Full Version: Multi-Freezers, worth it?

With battles getting extremely long (like probably 15+ turns against the Riilan) i'm thinking of maybe switching over to a multi-freeze. Slumberberry Potion most likely. However, I'm not sure if this will fit into my strategy which basically goes:

2x shields + defend (until Riilan uses up his Jade.)
SOS + FTab + species attack (until dead)

Now, with a multifreezer, the 2nd step would become:

multifreezer + Ftab + species attack. I'll be loosing approximately 8.3 icons per turn. But will this be made up through my freezes?

Just wondering if anyone had input.. Thanks!
I think it's worth it because when your opponent is frozen, probably 2 + times per battle, you'll get to do a beserk, which increases ur dmg by 50%, which makes up for the 8.3 icons per turn. You get SoS 17 + secondary (10??) -27 and an additonal 13 which is 40. So you'll lose 8.3 icons per turn, but after 5 turns you should get 1 freeze and get the 40 back =P
Eh, I tried it and it didn't work well for me. I think you just have to see what works the best for you though.
Well I just did the math (shoulda done this first huh? Toungue)

It averages a freeze every.. 5.8 turns

If I loose an average of 8.3 icons per turn (by switching SOS -> SPot), i loose a total of:
47.7

but by getting a free freeze turn, the total done there is:
54.9

So even with ONE freeze, I still come out on top Smile
uh you mean 1 freeze for every 5.8 turns o_O ...if you get 1 freeze per 15 turn battle, then it's not worth it.

That's the thinking i had in my low level percentage freezers article. Keep in mind: your doing this to save time (turns), so you need to include the freezing turn in how many turns the battle is.

Also- Do you think you are going to use the potion when the opponent is frozen in hopes of a multi-freeze?
Turns where you're playing more defensively, i.e. using Burrow or Sink (or more likely Regeneration since if I remember correctly you have really high HP so Regen is probably more useful than Burrow or Sink), or TT if you have it probably change the equation to a certain extent... not sure how though. Don't forget that when it freezes the S-Pot also still deals 10 icons which is of course better then whatever constant freezer you're using. Also, I'm pretty sure you need at least 2 freezes to make it worth it. 1 freeze would just match up evenly with what you're already doing. You need at least one extra.

Hrm, never considered... Perhaps later on when it starts getting difficult, but for now, I want to try and get the most out of my freezes. (i just bought one btw)

Yah, special turns like using my healer/abilities would change things around. But overall, I look at:

shield + attack
vs.
shield + multifreezer (less attack)
another factor is the amount of damage you take vs your hp
your not taking any on a freeze turn
I say go for it,
if it doesn't work out you still have a nice item
