Right before the Dr. Sloth plot came out, I was getting ready to buy a
Heavy Blue Tunic. Inflation has put a hold on that for a while, but I did go ahead and raise my pet's Int to 1000 by having him read enough books (I'm not into using a
Scroll Potion and begging my way there).
If anyone is considering doing the same, I decided to put all of the books that he's read onto a petpage for referance. Over 90% of them can be had for under 2k right now (I used superwiz), and I also have the list available in Excel format so that it can be used as a checklist if anyone wants it.

I spent 627K to go up 452 Int points, So I guess a good rounding point would be 1400np per point (1387 for the literal-minded).... So your math is about right.
I should also add that the other 10% or so that weren't under 2K all cost between 2000 and 3000. The only exceptions being things like Walking Book that were actually cheap when I read them years back

Edit: I just raised my pet's intelligence from 430 to 751; now I can use Crisp Blue Tunic if I want.
I'm not going to 1000, though!

Do you mean the requirement is only 750????? I always thought it was 1000. If it IS only 750, someone should really get around to updating the database
