*ACK* Puzzles. Gimme a maintenance robot to smash, not navigate around. I want to fight! Waiting

So glad I stashed all of those leaf shields and gelert healing remedies. As soon as the first puny combatant does surface, I'll be ready for a fire sale. Hmm... looks like it's time to inventory my SDB.

Darn, and I was almost ready to buy a Hobans Hat to round out my water defence. I guess the Sophies Spoon will just have to suffice.
hear me: buy earth scorchstones
this is what i said for leaf shields in JLI
buy few, im not a stalker so i can fail in my predictions

From the new plot board. Looks like we're getting another noob puzzle.

yeah I just noticed...ewwwwwwwww

edit-usually by the time a first challenger surfaces (if one does), the items have already peaked in value. so I'd sell before the 1st challenger came out, reduces risk IMO, but I dunno

Conversely, they wouldn't say, "Discuss the latest comic and war," before opponents get released.

Another random question, since I can't remember my war history: what did the supporters do during Curse of Maraqua?

PilotGrarrl Wrote:Speaking of puzzles, why the mad rush to train and buy weapons once a plotwarwhatever is underway? There just seems to be all kinds of time to train when there aren't inflated prices? I mean, if you have the nps, why not train all the time, or at least to where you want to be and then when a plotwarwhatever comes along, you're good to go? Just wondering. . . .
One, you can never be too well trained. Two, countless newbies, n00bs, slackers, inactives, etc, surface whenever a plot does, and suddenly need to buy things. It's not just a bunch of lazy BDers that suddenly sit up and say, "Oh snap!" but the whole of Neopia.
During non-war time's people might turn their resources (time and np) elsewhere, where they can be more productive, for example making np, or OMG doing well in schoolWink

As for supporters they basically paid np to buy items and give them to the NPC. So it was kind of like an ongoing Iquest...and if you got stuck on an expensive item, I think you were stuck for the whole war.

They just went on quests for points. There was the option to cancel any quest you didn't feel like doing, and to my knowledge, without penalty.

They could also turn in Supporter Tokens,

which were worth 5 points each.

And they could play certain games for points. A score worth 500 NP got you 1 point, and 1,00 got you 2.
Is it just me, or has anyone else noticed that the Space Weaponry
shop has been unusually empty for long stretches (for almost an hour most recenty) tonight?
I don't restock Space Weapons, but all the weapon shops had their restocker quota doubled, give or take. Given the inflation the mobile restockers switched to weapons. All of the slower BD shops have picked up their competition.

It also might possibly be being affected by the number of newbies and n00bs swarming the Virtupets Space Station.

Thank Shattered. Yeah, that's most likey it. It just seemed weird. The Space Armour shop was normal, but the weapon shop didn't even seem to be restocking (it has again recently). Plus there were/are only like 26k players online. It just struck me as an odd time & place for restockers to be hanging out -- until you mentioned the inflation factor.

Thanks too for your input on my earlier plotwarwhatever training rush question. I wholly agree that one's pet can never be too well trained!!
Space Weapons has become annoyingly high competition ever since the day new prizes from the Neocola Machine came out (Sloth Appreciation Day, I believe) and Tokens hit a new high, and it's persisted since then as those who tried out liked what they were getting, even though Token prices have fallen back to usual. Combine that and a plot centred around the Space Station and you get the current situation.

Puzzles. Woohoo. I plan on cashing in most of my set and spending the duration of the plot collecting the interest...
I have a few Space Weapons. I'm still collecting for my SDB, I have around 20 Enhanced Solar Gauntlets, although they're totally useless. Not to mention Mechaberry Bombs. If this is a war, then I'm ready to rack up some kill points...to an extent.
