i'm thinking of upgrading my bd set. please advice, thanks.

Species : Buzz
Agility : 31 (GREAT (31))
Attack Strength : 89 (AMAZING (89))
Defence Strength : 84 (AMAZING (84))
Current hp: 84 / 84
Level : 48

Mainly 1p battles.
No species healers (I'll probably wait til my pet gets zapped into a pet that uses species healers).
Around 1.7mil invested in the stock market.
Around 1.1mil in bank and till.

here is how my current set looks like;
Purple Sticky Hand
Leaf Shield thinking of upgrading to Sophies Magic Hat
Black Frost Cannon
Greater Healing Scroll
Shooting Star Muffin doing illusen quests right now, hopefully i'll replace this with a Honey Potion
Downsize! should I replace this with a main weapon?
x2 Golden Compass
Don't think of Sophies Magic Hat as an upgrade; it's just a replacement of fire+dark for water.

Since your constant is only 18, I would suggest dual Scuzzys Combs for 1p. I'm not too sure about 2p.

Keep your Downsize, never take it out of your set.
I see nothing wrong in getting A Scuzzy's Comb, but I wouldn't get a pair. One Golden Compass and One Scuzzys Comb would be fine in my opinion. The Shooting Star Muffin does need to be replaced, as its one time use nature will be an ongoing drain on your budget if you do any amount of fighting. Mathbits and I disagree on the value of the Downsize! however, as while I'll agree that you should ALWAYS have one, equipping it to me, depends on the opponent and the situation - in other words I see it and the Purple Sticky Hand as useful items, but only in the right situations, and those two can often be substituted in and out of the equipped battleset depending on the situation. You should also have a cheap Scarab Ring on hand as well, which will give you some fire defense (and physical) with a bit of attack. At the moment continuined training is your best investment and I wouldn't get real caught up in minor weapons upgrades. Your next big move will be a more consistant freezer, and it will be mega expensive. Other than that, the addition of the Honey Potion, which for you can be either a bomb for a frozen attacker, or an optional, once-per-battle attacker are decent enough priorities. Just keep training, you're off to a good start.
In addition to continued training, you might want to consider dual prickly potions for the tougher 1p opponents out there. with 1.1 you can afford 2 and they pack quite a punch when the enemy's str boost is over 250, you can keep your current set for weaker opponents.

You beat me to it Sad For 1p, you really only need ppots, a healer, downsize! and 2 constants to beat up weak opponents with until you get up to 250 STR or 15mil at which point you can switch to SoS or Glowing Cauldron until you get up to a really high STR boost.
hmm. i tried dual p-pots equipped to my pet against meerca henchmen, i did the damage but my opponent defeated me in 1 round.

you probably want to try using burrow and sink with dual prickly pots. and on your first turn against tough opponents, a freezer like snowglobe staff+ppot is usually a good idea. Repeat until you freeze them first turn (probably sink or burrow to prevent being killed)..then dual ppot+beserk (in 2 lvls). then on the last turn either ppot+thick smoke bomb, or dual ppot+burrow, depending on how much health you have left and how much health the oppoennt is at.

When it comes to individual 1p battle advice, the best place to post is here:

That thread was recently split, so you might want to read back into the archives a little. I managed to beat DoN all the way through just by reading the advice given to other people. I found it more fun to read it and adapt my own strategy rather than posting a question geared to my own specific stats and set but it's your call Smile

*looks in neopets magazine*

well, if your'e going to beat the meerca henchmen, this is what you do, according the the magazine:

burrow and throw a water muffin(well, the water muffin can be replaced with something else)
and freeze

while the brothers are frozen, use 2 more muffins

during turn 3, use a thick smoke bomb while you use one more muffin.

The only problem with that strategy is the first turn - if you're not using a 100% freezer and it doesn't freeze, you're out the NP you spent on that muffin.

hmmm...that's a problem...maybe you could replace the first round muffin with his multiuse.
