Full Version: Mediocre set for 1p battling?

The beauty of 1p battling is that you can switch up your items accordingly. Now I need help as to what would be good defensive items (lower than 5 mill preferrably, if not just state them anyways Smile)

that would combat these icons and mixes of these icons:
(basically 1p for me is:
Shattered Rift Wrote:...One Player goal is to max out against opponents (since otherwise it would just be DoN and screwing around while waiting for a war that will never come),
)

mass earth
mass light
mass air
mass fire

my current set (not using but what I would have pieced together if I had the money)

wand of reality
ring of the lost
downsize!
winged scarab

stats:
125 str
125 def
240 hp

Also another important question that I want addressed is: because of the huge str boosts that 1p opponenets will continue to have, is it worth training defense or should I just get full blockers?
Personally, I sacked my Defense due to the time and cost involved, with the emphasis being on the time. However, you mentioned that you spend 10% of your time in Two Player, and Defense is arguably necessary there.

The choice is up to you. If you ever think you might get seriously into Two Player, definitely train Defense. Keep in mind that there are advantages to having your Defense trained in One Player (most noticeably once you break 450 and can start to infinite-win a few opponents).

Full-blockers/Reflectors
Earth: Illusens Silver Shield
Air: There isn't anything for cheaper than whatever the price of Shield of Soaring and Ring of Weightlessness are going for. Last I checked they were around 8 mil, but could easily be higher.
Light: Shadow Shield or Combo Battle Mirror
Fire: Clawed Shield or Flame Reflectozap

Icon-Based
Earth: Mask of Coltzan
Air: None
Light: Dusty Magic Broom or Air Faerie Crown
Fire: None (I suppose Greater Fire Potion, but I'm pretty sure that has some catch to it that isn't listed in its IDB profile)
Get an freezer like snowglobe staff, a stealer called purple sticky hand, and to my opinion, you dont have to train defence for 1p.

Thanks all

This might sound like a stupid question but: why 450 boost?

And also, what do you mean by 'serious' 2p battling? The 10% of the time I go on I just screw around and try to steal a rare weapon from them and use it! haha Smile fun fun.
Either competing in tournaments, or even simply playing Two Player as often as you do One Player (or more often).

450 because it's the first Boost that's able to properly compete against the 700 Boost. As I recall, the ratio is about 66%, meaning that G-Shield and Tabard can both blocked 2 for every 3 it normally would (making all of its defense somewhat useful, rather than just the 5 icon blockage). Defense less than 450 can't really compete with a 700 Booster. It's a somewhat arbitrary point to take, though: more accurately, 550 Defense or so could compete against a 700 Strength Boost with fair efficiency (hitting an 80% ratio, if I remember right).
