I don't know anymore. Is RotL still worth getting at the high price of 9 mill (well high to me)?

It started at like 4 mill and jumped to its current price.

I read the Ghostkershield vs Tabard thread and mathbits puts up a good point that tabard + rotl may trump ghostkershield + dual duty blocking either fire or water. But price wise, how does tabard + rotl do vs ghostkershield + ?? ?

Also I'm a poorer battler with say, less than 12 mill to spend for:
shield + dual duty.

rotl worth that 9 mill?
Well, if you want to compare weapons, and specifically the shield + dual duty combo, the closest thing I can find being close to the RotL is the Battle Plunger, which blocks all water and does between 3-14 icons of damage. According to the database it's around 8-13M, although I can't find any in trades or auctions..

Comparing these two on their own, I'd say RotL is the better one, since dark blocking is more important than water blocking. And because it's a plot prize, it will keep on going up. As far as I see it, 4M was a steal. 9M may be expensive, but no other weapon comes close to what this does. Perhaps Mask of Coltzan, but only if you've trained defence and even then it doesn't block everything. Ghostkershield only defends, whereas RotL is dual duty.

The real question is whether you want to pay the asked price for it. Whether it's worth it or not is really just a matter of your willingness to pay for it Toungue
Its worth the 9m for sure, cause no other full dark blocker do damage also (atleast for cheap enough) but ifyoustill stal buying it, it will onlyriseand soon its not worth it anmore.
It really depends on your stats. If you have defense, probably not. If you don't then its still a tough call. Its nice to have for 1p, but I'm not really sure its that great in 2p anymore. I have not seen a SoS in a long time.

I'm planning to continue training my defense to match my strength but I also was thinking of using full blockers...? Right now I have a winged scarab and I like to train defense for the air blocking. Because I DO train defense and will 90% of the time 1p, should I be getting a Mask of Coltzan over RotL? It'd save a hella lot of my neopoints too and thats what I'd need for training/other weapons.

Thanks to all opinions so far Smile

Wait, are you saying you do One Player 90% of the time, or am I misunderstanding you?
Yes he is saying that to you. :)Ans if you do 1p i don't kno how much should you train your Def...
Yeah I do 1p 90% of the time Smile

Sorry for confusion
What are your stats right now? Assuming your One Player goal is to max out against opponents (since otherwise it would just be DoN and screwing around while waiting for a war that will never come), the RotL wins by a longshot (though wins by a lesser degree once your Defense is at or above 450). The extra defense offered by Ghostkershield will continue to matter less as your opponent's Strength Boost goes, whereas RotL's icons will matter so long as your opponent can't block them.

On the other hand, I'm not sure how many One Player opponents use mass Dark. Black Pteri uses Air and Dark almost equally (it leans one way by a slight margin, but I can't recall which way). I'm not sure about any others, and can't recall who all uses SoS. (Sidney might use substantial Dark, but I'm not sure.)

The Tabard runs into the same problem Ghostkershield does, and without a common mass-Water weapon (SoS being the common mass-Dark) it sees that problem more often. Then again, I think there are one or two opponents (Snowager, for one) that take a hit from Water being blocked. On the other hand, U-Bend of Great Justice is (comparatively) dirt cheap and throws it back at him. (Though with a Defense Boost at or above 450, the extra defense against Snowager is probably a better alternative.)
Considering that you're basically a 1P battler, having a multi-use defensive wep that fully blocks one or more icons is preferred over one that relies on DEF boost. The premise for this is that the effectiveness of a DEF-dependant defence decreases because the opp's str and hp increases with every win. Up until probably 2-3 boosts above your DEF will your defensive capability be more of a hero than a hindrance. After that, it's rather useless since you should be focusing on dealing massive dmg in a short amount of time than prolong the battle where the 1P opp has a significant advantage.

In that case I would go for the RoTL since it has a decent attack and gurantees a full defense against dark. However, the price and your budget don't exactly match that well for you to fill in set space.

At 9m for RoTL you could get an HP and a couple of 10 iconers with the usual Downsize! and all that...morph into a Kacheek for the healer but if you don't have a freezer that's a problem in terms of achieving any 1P goals or war prospects you may have. Though even if you do that, your severely limited offensively.

Investment wise, RoTL is nice to have. I didn't realize it doubled until last week, a bit of a shocker for something that was supposed to compete with Gshield and be affordable for those who can't afford one...

I'd go with the Mask of Coltzan in this case. Affordable and effective in both 1 & 2P and you have room for some nice mid to mid-high weps. The dark and fire defense is great since a lot of the 1P opps deal those in manageable amounts so your covered well.
Ok thanks for input guys Smile
The only 1p I know of right now that uses SoS is GHMC
