More people can only make it go faster, as long you don't have to wait forever for them to come to the excavation site. More people = jq's get done faster. It's not like you need to wait for people to come to the next stage after each stage.
And in the example you used, with people finding no prizes for several gq's...if tax was calculated per-gq instead of per-bunch-of-gq's, the boss fighters would have lost several million mesos. That is considerably worse than someone merely not making a profit. Furthermore, doing the calculations per-gq would be a ton more work.
Good news is that we're starting to get to the point where Heidi and Krystal can soon boss at GQ with us. This might make the boss fighting easier (and if I would ever train to 4th job, it would help
)
Well, Tog and Krystal don't really need to help fight the boss, they'd still be useful before that keeping the Ghostses frozen if there should be a lack of an Arch Mage. ;P

Once I have the level, and the accuracy I will be able to be a boss fighter. Computer is no longer a major limitation to me, I got a new laptop and MS runs way better on it and I don't lag o_O
Though I might be a high enough level for the statues now?
Ya know, whenever metal/brett is on as well as a bowman, I'm technically not required to go on any of my chars, so I can take over GQNewbie if Heidi wants to use her own char.
My characters are only required when there are no dark sight people or ranged people. Healer's aren't essential, so basically, my chars are not of use in GQ these days

Heidi, I think it'll be a few more levels before you can be effective at statues.
We don't need a ranged anymore since I can fill that role with Shout (although having a ranged person makes it go a lot faster).
Blizzard will go even faster than a Ranged person. I walk in, Blizz the Gargoyle like twice, then Blizz all the Jr. Gargoyle once, and scene.
