Gamers will 'w00t' over word of the year (msnbc.com)

Wow, Springfield. I never see The Simpsons saying w00t.

Anyways, this story is kinda cool. I'll be sure to refer it to all my 1337 gamers.

I have only one word to say - "w00t"


I don't think it should be in paper english dictionaries, but electronic ones are fine. It may be considered a form of slang, but it is against every fiber of my being to seriously use numbers instead of letters.

I find it hilarious that they misuse the word twice in the first 50 words of the article. "W00t" is not a verb, it's an interjection.

And I don't really care if it's the word if the year. Like the word gets a special pay bonus or something? Naming it "Word of the Year" doesn't really do a thing.

But still this is hilarious. It just made me think, "What the w00t?"

I love the runner-ups even more. Quixotic? BLAMESTORM?!

Quixotic just sounds cool. Like Sputnik (say that 5 times fast. It is addicting)
Blamestorm is one I've never heard though.
It is odd that webster is encouraging slang. You'd think they'd be against that sort of thing.

The new world is a world of slang. It's so cool it's hot. I feel a little miffed they misspelled it though. I always thought the correct spelling was "wh00t".

It's all a matter of preference. To me, only the cool people say Huzzah...and I guess that makes you cool.
