So I've been thinking about upgrading my 2nd weapon.
I am a mostly 1P Bder.
Main weapon is SoS
I am looking to upgrade my 10 icon RSB/Royal Wedding Ring, but I've come to the problem of a reasonable upgrade.
I could get the 11 icon Portable Kiln for 3 mil or I was thinking about a 13 icon BoD 4.9 mil or WoR 4.5.
But is the extra 2.5 mil for the PKs 1 extra icon or the extra 4.4/4.0 mil for the BoD/WoRs extra 3 icons worth it?
1P I might say yes, but 2P I would probally say no.

It's more worthwhile in Two Player than it is in One Player, actually.
The distinct "flaw" with the SoS is there aren't any good supporting weapons. Pirate Captains Cutlass, for example, can run Wand of Reality alongside it and stack icon types.
The choice to upgrade your Spellbook (possibly the best supplement to SoS) is much more dependent on the rest of your set, and what you specifically aim to accomplish in One Player. Personally, I'm running 10-iconers in One Player despite having a 600 Strength Boost/600 HP Pet. I'm also running a full compliment of full-blockers/reflectors, which are far more useful for maxing out than an upgraded weapon. (Then again, not everyone is looking to get onto the high score charts.)
It's far more likely that ditching and upgrading the Royal Wedding Ring will be more beneficial than ditching the Spellbook. I'm guessing the Ring still averages 10 icons, and given there are three types rather than two it makes you more likely to see part of it blocked. Fire isn't really any better in One Player than any other icon (except Physical).
There's no reason to get Kiln for One Player. Yes, mono-type is nice, but the price difference between it and the Wand and Bow (which are apparently more inflated than I was aware?) is makes the 13-iconers better options.
Like I said, knowing your current set and your intentions will help us to know what to recommend you. Off of just the information you gave us, you should train save up for one of the 13-iconers (Bow is my personal preference, though if one's significantly cheaper than the other, go with it: the Wand could probably stack with a backup weapon better than the Bow could, however).
I have no idea what the price is anymore, but since you do 1p, ROTL might be useful for you. Full blockers are always nice.
