I've been getting quite a lot of battledome items from Tarla recently, and also read alot about them on the IDB database. Anyway, I would like to have a decent all-round set of items for both 1 player and 2 player, and some guidance on which abilities to use. Keep in mind I'm only a beginner at the dome. If it helps, here are my main fighter's stats:

Species: Kougra, Ghost
Level: 22
Health: 21
Strength: 45
Defence: 33
Intelligence: 204
Movement: 22
Abilities: Water Breathing, Steam Shield, Night Vision, Water Jet, Haste, Quench, Water of Life, Temporal Leak, Magic Torch, Spark, Air Shield, Bubble Shield, Smoke Screen, Fiery Roar, Flash, Bless, Heal, Nighttime.

I currently have the following weapons:

Bone Sceptre, Warriors Rectangular Shield, Scarab Ring, Scroll of The Dark Star, Snowball Slingshot, Red Frost Cannon, Lightning Wand, 17-Pound Trout.

I have up to 10k to spend on new weapons and equipment, but I would really much prefer multiple use items. Please could someone help me with the following:

* What I can buy/use from what I have for 1 player fights.
* What I can buy/use from what I have for 2 player fights.
* Which abilities I should use.

Hi and welcome to this wonderful place.

About the abilities question I find this the most useful:
Drain Life (Steals 11% of opponents' hp up to 100 and gives to your pet). Burrow (all but light, dark) & Sink (all but earth, air) (I think about them as extra shields). Fiery gaze / Diamond Dust (a low chance freezer, usefyul when you want a double freeze to beat some 1-P enemies). Regeneration / Healing Vapour / Restore (Any of these gaves you up to 33% of your lost HP). An my favorites the full blockers: Quench (all fire), Boil / Water Breathing (all water), Steam Shield (all light).

As you can see there are some that you don't have, DON'T rush to get them. My strategy to get the abilities was. First get burrow (earth faeries and level 10). Then i used water faeries (the last one when I reached level 27) and finally the bottled dark faeries (at level 30 you get sink). I got all the other using the faeries that I have found.

I like your set. But you need more power you can try any of the following ones (low budget but more than you have right now) instead of any of your weapons: Ice Club, Stone Club, Essence of Esophagor, Pike Pike.

Think on your Scarab Ring as a shield abd you may want to add a Leaf shield and a Downsize!. Also you may want a Purple Sticky Hand for 1-p battles (and not on all of them). This last suggestions may eat all your budget but can be helpful.

And finally train. But before this you need to find you battle style. The style will tell you if you need to train defense, to train things evenly (there are tanks and all offensive pets) or even if you need to train movement and intelligence.
