Title says it all. I only have 200k to spend. I know I won't find anything that will fully heal me or anything close to that, but should I buy a Greater Healing Scroll, or just not worry about healing at all?
BTW...IDB says GHS heals "up to 50 HP" meaning it can heal anywhere from 0-50 HP when used?
Well I do lab ray so I jump around a lot. Currently I am a Darigan Bori. Pet's name is "Dahhcheek".
Let's start with the list of healers I posted in the other thread:
Quote:Full Healers, Once per battle
Jade Scorchstone
Leaded Elemental Vial
Full Healers, Single-Use
Jade Elixir
Lucky Robots Foot
Life Giver
Amulet of Life
Percentage Species Healers,
cheap:
Elephante Unguent
Gelert Healing Remedy
Kacheek Life Potion (33% or up to 66%)
not cheap
Bag of Lenny Healing Seeds
Blumaroo Health Potion
Healing Ankh of the Nimmo
Squishy Shoyru Healing Stone
Lucky Uni Charm
Multihealers
Everlasting Crystal Apple, also see below
Other healers (maybe) worth caring about
Slime Potion
Lesser Healing Scroll
Blue Scorchstone
Cursed Elixir
Greater Healing Scroll
Short Sleeved Yellow Tunic
Crisp Blue Tunic
(Bag of Healing Dust)
(Ice Scorchstone)
(Velms Healing Potion)
Worthwhile Healing items that don't take up the healer slot
Fighting Folder
Ultranova
Rod of Super Nova
Rod of Dark Nova
Now let's remove everything over 200k.
That leaves you with:
Jade Elixir
Lucky Robots Foot
Life Giver
Amulet of Life
Elephante Unguent
Gelert Healing Remedy
Kacheek Life Potion (33% or up to 66%)
Slime Potion
Lesser Healing Scroll
Blue Scorchstone
Greater Healing Scroll
(
Velms Healing Potion)
Fighting Folder
Ultranova
As to Greater Healing Scroll, it's not random, it heals a constant 50, but only up to your normal maximum and with the healing applied before damage instead of after damage.
Now then, your stats are:
Hit Points: 236 / 236
Strength: LEGENDARY (142)
Defence: EXCELLENT (58)
Since you lab, relying solely on a species healer is out. That leaves you with Greater Healing Scroll or single use full healers as meaningful affordable healers for you, and if you continue to lab, Greater Healing Scroll is not going to stay meaningful for too much longer.
I'd actually advise you to do all three. Use Greater Healing Scroll for general "fun" battling, use single-use full healers for tournaments or other "important" battles, and get a cheap species healer(for a species that is cheap to morph into), so that if there is a war or if you want to max out for an NCW event you can morph for a week or two to rack up some wins without having to give up labbing altogether.
Thanks a lot. I bought a greater healing potion. What's the cheapest one-use full healer? Also, should I stock up on those now, because they might increase in price during the next war?
It fluctuates, I'd check the price on all of them. And stocking up wouldn't be a bed idea, everything inflates during wars plots.
Cheapest tends to be Jade Elixir or Lucky Robots Foot both in the 8k range.
Amulet of Life is currently about twice that.
Life Giver is about 90K! Why the difference? It heals differently?

You do realize this thread is fifteen days old, right?
Life Giver is an r97. It stocks less frequently than the others, and costs more when it stocks.
Thread is old, but I still have this problem
It was solved with the Golden Sun Chalice, but now that's downgraded.
Ok since it seems to go along the lines of this catergory, maybe an expert can tell me.
At what point (how many hitpoints) does a Golden Sun Chalice (a 20% chance at a full heal) become better than a Greater Healing Scroll (50 hp heal)
And on a semi-related matter, I sure wish neopets would release some more species 50% healers or some other viable upgrade to greater healing scroll. Though actually the yellow tunic is an upgrade if you have enough INT.

Having thought about it a bunch lately, I've come to the conclusion that there are just too many variables involved to say with any degree of precision. I am however fairly confident that at up to 51 HP, GHS is better and at over 2800 HP, you will almost always have time to wait for GSC to work.
