I'm looking for a little advice with building my 1p labrat set. not interested in suggestions for fragiles/single-use, freezers, or stealers. Thanks.

I think I'll replace the
Winged Scarab with a
Sinsis Helm. And I'm going to skip the
Honey Potion. Too expensive for the few extra icons it has over my constants.
I knew I'd need a second
Scuzzys Comb. Wasn't really sure if two
Essence of Esophagors were really needed.
Since I won't be getting an HP, what weapon should I look into getting for my last slot?
take a look at Black Frost cannon, Yes it is better than you think.. just look.. or purple sticky hand.. still if you dont want them try a Pike Pike? and with the extra NP why dont just get Winged Scarab?? I would.. and save to replace something with a SOA or cheaper 11 Iconer.. but scuzzys are best for now..
In my opinion, the BFC isn't worth the extra NP to upgrade from the Snowglobe Staff. It's not that much on an increased freeze chance, and you're mostly going to be relying on the withdraw-until-freeze tactic anyway.
I'm building my set for use in wars/battleplots, so I'm not going to bother getting a
Purple Sticky Hand.
I'm not interested in a freezer, because, in my opinion, none of the percentage freezers are really worthwhile.
And what's the point a
Pike Pike?
Essence of Esophagor is an immensly better backup, and without light overlap. It's cheaper too.

Ernie's set is pretty much the "cookie-cutter" set at your level. The EoE's are for opponents who block light and/or physical, yes you need them as backups. I also don't get the love for the
Winged Scarab... To me it doesn't seem that useful, but to each his own I suppose. Although if you are going for the physical blocking, the Winged Scarab
is worth the extra NP. Blocking those extra icons and doing a little damage can really help when trying to max out, as you stated your set is built for.
You said you didn't really like the Honey Potion, but it's 4-6 icons more than a Scuzzy's, which really helps during a freeze round. Speaking of which, you NEED a 100% freezer. I'd save up and get one ASAP; you might wanna go the Lenny route for the
Entangling Lenny Lasso +
Bag of Lenny Healing Seeds combo.
I may get one in the future, but currently, I really don't have enough Neopoints to invest in one.
Another reason I'm not going for a freezer, is that freezing, while useful and helpful, isn't really required for a good set. Since not all opponents have freezers in the first place, and they're certainly not "smart" enough to freezebomb. So freezing, in 1p, is not something that I simply don't have a chance without, like in 2p.
