I've been training every now and then at the training school and I've collected some weapons, but I've yet to really think about what I have, and as I'm hoping to hit the 85 strenght boost in week or so I'd like some help in deciding if what I have is good enough or to be sold for new weapons.

Species: Scorchio
Level:40
Strength:80
Defense:82
Health:86

Current set: pending

Useful weapons in your safety deposit box (optional): Ah, I have a lot of pretty weapons, how useful they are is up to question. Here's a list of some I think may or may not be useful:

Obsidian Dagger, Blue Scorchstone, Rusty Lamppost, Leaf Shield, Cloudy Wand of Storms, Scarab Ring, Pike Pike, Earthen Scorchstone, Makeshift Ships Hammer, Tooth of Terask, Flaming Oven Gloves, Golden Geraptiku Talisman, and a bunch of lower lvl weapons and such

Budget you have to spend: ah, not much. I'm using most of it into training and I'm not exactly speedy with the money gathering.

And no, I'm not labbing this one. I like it as a mutant scorchio, thank you very much.

Really, once you're at the 9 iconers, training tends to be better than upgrades for quite a while, so keep doing that.

Given those weapons and a propensity for 1p, with a minimal budget, I would advise:

Sell the Blue Scorchstone and get a Greater Healing Scroll, you have enoungh HP that the extra 20 points of healing will usually be better than the overheal.

Get a Snowglobe Staff. It's a really frustrating freezer, but at least for 1p you can use a withdraw and restart strategy with it, and it is really cheap.

Get a Downsize!, which will be useful against 1p opponents who have Str boosts higher than your defense boost.

Get a Purple Sticky Hand only to be used against Sabre-X, Black Pteri, GHM Chomby, Turmaculous and other 1p challengers with worthwhile weapons in their first stealing slot.

That leaves you 4-5 slots for the rest of your set, Pike Pike and Makeshift Ships Hammer should go in since they are your heaviest offense. You probably also want the Scarab Ring, as it is just an all around solid bargain weapon.

That leaves you to decide between using Leaf Shield or Cloudy Wand of Storms for your earth defense. In 2p, I'd recommend the shield, but in 1p offense is far more important than defense (at least until you start chasing high score tables), so the wand is a thought. Still, at current prices, I'd recommend selling it to get a Golden Compass instead, which gives you more offense for about the same price. The dark defense on GoC also renders your Tooth of Terrask rather obsolete, so you could safely sell that off.

So to recap:

Snowglobe Staff
Greater Healing Scroll
Downsize!
Pike Pike
Golden Compass
Makeshift Ships Hammer
Scarab Ring
Leaf Shield

Alternate Weapon to rotate in and out: Purple Sticky Hand
In SDB just in case they could be useful against future challengers: Earthen Scorchstone, Flaming Oven Gloves, Rusty Lamppost

Sold: Cloudy Wand of Storms, Blue Scorchstone, Tooth of Terrask

Additional cost: around 50k

That gives you a pair of 9 icon weapons, a freezer, a better healer, decent defense against the very common physical icon and some defense against earth, water, fire and dark.
