My budget is 800k.

Stats:
Species: Koi
Level: 108
Health: 284 / 284
Strength: LEGENDARY (108)
Defence: EXCELLENT (42)
Move: AWESOME (74)
Intelligence: super genius (49)

Training:
Used to lab (the stats kinda give it away), now slowly codestone / scratchcard training level so I can even out strength and defence.

Current Set:
Snowglobe Staff
Greater Healing Scroll
Leaf Shield
Downsize!
Golden Compass
Golden Compass
Honey Potion
Makeshift Ships Hammer

I also have a Purple Sticky Hand and a couple of Scarab Rings in my SDB.

Goals:
- Complete DoN. (Plenty of time before that happens, it's taking forever to get the Snow Beast as a challenger!)
- Be able to get a decent number of wins against the tougher enemies in plot battles.

My ideas:
- Morph my pet into a Kacheek and replace the Greater Healing Scroll with a Kacheek Life Potion.
- Replace a Golden Compass or the Makeshift Ships Hammer with a Scuzzys Comb.

That would still leave me with around 150k, but I don't know if there's anything better I could get for my NPs...
I'd say morphing to a kacheek and getting a kacheek life potion is a great idea. Also I like the idea of replacing one of the golden compasses with a scuzzys comb. With the remaining 150k I'd suggest you replace your leaf shield with a patched magic hat and then start saving up for things such as the Wand of Reality,Bow of Destiny, etc.
Thanks for the advice. I'm not entirely convinced of the need to replace the Leaf Shield with a Patched Magic Hat though. I'd lose 5 water defence, and only gain 3 light and the possibility of an extra 3 physical defence. Would I be right in assuming that the reason to change is because light is more common than water?
Yes, that's exactly the reason. Though if you are facing lots of things such as Essence of Essophagor and other water based weapons you would be of course better off with the leaf shield. But more of the time you'll be facing weapons with light icons such as:
Earth Faerie Slingshot
Electro Sword
Enchanted Wooden Bow
Frozen Wand of Crystals
Golden Compass very common and it knocks this down to a 6 icon attack
Pike Pike
Psellias Fighting Fan
Ramtors Spellbook cut down to 7 icons
Scuzzys Comb cut down to 2-4 icons of damage
Staff of Righteous Fury
Also quite a few of weapons higher than this level as well.
As you can see it knocks down quite a few common weapons at your level of bding.
Ah, nice one. Thanks for the explanation.

So my updated set would be:
Snowglobe Staff
Kacheek Life Potion
Patched Magic Hat
Downsize!
Golden Compass
Scuzzys Comb
Honey Potion
Makeshift Ships Hammer

Which would leave me with around 100k. If I sold my old GHS and GoC (I'll keep the Leaf Shield for now), I could get another 160k. Is there anything else I could use the 260k on, or would I be better off just saving the NPs for a better upgrade further down the line? (or using it on training)
Well, for now I'd just keep training get your strength to 125 boost and def to at least 85 boost. Most people would probably say your next upgrade would be a Black Frost Cannon I've heard it's significantly better than the Snowglobe Staff, I can't attest to this because I've not used it yet. But that's around 450k I do believe so still got a little ways to go for that, shouldn't take too long though. Also training gonna be a little expensive as well so that'll eat up a lot of money.

Anyways instead of going back and forth I'd just like to say training your def is more important, in my opinion.
Yeah, I would like to get both strength and defence to the 125 boost. Unfortunately it's gonna take a lot of time and money! Not sure I'll ever bother with the Black Frost Cannon, I only do 1-player, so if the Snowglobe Staff doesn't freeze I can just withdraw and try again. Having said that though, the chance of 5 icons + freeze might tempt me into the BFC at some point if I find myself with money to burn...

I think I'm all set now, thanks for all the help!
The weapons listed by Mod, although common, are 2-player weapons, NOT 1-player. Since you are looking into 1-player so those weapons aren't gonna be problematic to you.

Also, there is another way to defend againts light without sacrificing the water defence: get a dual duty that defends against light eg Ethereal Sword, Amulet of Inevitable Betrayal, Sword of the Dead, Thief Dagger etc. So apart from changing the Leaf Shield to Patched Magic Hat, you can also add a dual duty that defends againts light.

My suggestion:

Snowglobe Staff
Kacheek Life Potion
Leaf Shield
Downsize!
Golden Compass
Scuzzys Comb
Honey Potion
Amulet of Inevitable Betrayal
Thanks for the suggestions. As it happens, I actually have a Thief Dagger that I got from Tarla, stuck in my SDB, and promptly forgot about! That said, I quite like the look of both the Amulet of Inevitable Betrayal and the Sword of the Dead. Is there any particular reason you suggested the Amulet of Inevitable Betrayal instead of the Sword of the Dead?
Simply cos it attacks with more icons. In 1-player, what you attack matters more than what you defends.

Of course, this is just a suggestion and in NO way isit reflective of what is right and wrong, so the final choice is really yours. Good luck! Big Grin
Ah, I did wonder if that was why. Thanks! Big Grin
