Quote:meh, a Zune is too bulky for my taste,

it's really not that big >.>

anyways, they're going to make 100 GB models AND a Nano version

the productions on those have been delayed due to an error with the design Sad

hopefully they are out before Xmas
I love all Apple things.
I have an iPod mini.
It's old, it does it's job.
I abuse it daily, dropping down stairs, dropping on rocks, etc.
It still works perfectly. Big Grin

Plus the new iPods have lag if you scroll too fast, the mini doesn't.

(I have had this since around April '05 btw)

thats because its old

everything old can take abuse

all the old nintendos, phones, everything
I have an IPod Video (the one that is 250 or whatever) it's black... I like it...

I wanted more memory but don't really need it. I had all my music in something on my computer and it downloaded them for me.

I think I could have probably gone with a shuffle because currently I just shuffle repeat lol ~.~ but I'm sleeping on the bus anyways and half the time don't know what I'm listening too.

What I hate is that people talk to me when I got the earphones in... I guess that is normal in today's society I should just keep my music low enough that I can hear if some random stranger wants to carry on a conversation ~.~

Other than that I'm pleased.

but see, im 100x more fickle then that.

if i want so and so features best believe ima do my best to get it

i cant be happy with "just music"

i need everything

the Zune does that better.

it has a built in radio, anyone know that? also, its easy to modify the transmitter to make it so strong that it knocks out surround radio waves(which i did)

the video is bigger, it lets u add a description to videos(which ive always wanted) and i LOVE how the video out feature displays everyhting and just the videos so when i get my Zune stand and remote, i dont have to get up

and i love the customizable backgrounds

i woold like customizable fonts tho...

its really cool. there isnt much that i want that i cant wait for. in my opinion, completely outweighs the iPod

people say "well i want shiny ooh la la" well, the shininess hardly lasts because iPods scratch and damage so easy all it takes is a funny look for it to blemish
=O the new iPod seemed to have 80giga at $250 o.o
i would also like to vouch for the Sandisk Sansa (it their older model) it's cheap, it's solid-state (it doesn't have a hard-drive with a moving needle...so it's less likely to break in that way)

the thing i like the most is that you can replace it's software (at your own risk) with http://www.rockbox.org

it's an excellent firmware, the includes a lot of functionality...including rockboy (game emulator) (remember, downloading roms are illegal tho). Also plays mpegs.

The sansa is their older model, and had several price-cuts so it's fairly cheap. go for the 8gb (and you can add a 2 GB mini-sd for expansion) i personally don't need for much more space, so it's good enough for me.
I love my Sandisk Sansa (I have the 4GB, but even the 8GB version is cheap now). It plays video, it has a built in FM tuner, and you can drag and drop songs onto it using Windows Explorer -- no need to use any software unless you want to set up playlists and stuff, in which case you can use Windows Media Player. It's extremely easy to use. It's also black with a glowy blue wheel that looks really cool, and it's small and lightweight, but tough.

The only downside I've found is that you have to make sure all your mp3s have ID3 tag info, or it won't recognize them. Most do now, though (especially legit ones), and it's easy enough to check before you load them on.

this is true

in response the zune is now $200
I don't really like the arguement of not liking a product because you don't like the company. If you don't like the company that's fine, but the apple's merchandise is some of the best there is. Their biggest problem is user friendliness. It's impossible or extremely complex to do some simple things other products can do easily. With all that I still enjoy the ipod. I have a 30 gig ipod video and it's not hard to put whatever you want into it. The wheel is easy to use. I'm not one of those people who are amazed when something has 30 some features or whatever because in reality, how often would you use them. I haven't once touched the photo saving capability of my ipod so it's usless, and kombat you can't tell me truthfully that you use all the features that you have on an every day level. What it comes down to is the music, and most of the time the deciding factor is price.

Which in Apple's case often proves a huge deterrent. When a Zen Vision with the same capacity comes with those admittedly never-used added functions but with a lower price to boot, then something is inherently wrong there.
