Hello everyone Smile

Well...here's my story...and questions.

I've been collecting plushies...and that's about all. It's getting rather boring...so now i've decided I want to start playing in the battledome.

I don't need any help with training...I know how to do all that, but I am curious as to what the 'experts' would advice as far as getting a set...

My current pet stats:
Species : Kougra
Agility : 8 (average)
Attack Strength : 7 (average)
Defence Strength : 9 (armoured)
Current hp: 15 / 15
Level : 4

If I have a 1 million np set...do i still need to get my stats up more to start doing fights like Pant Devil or similar?...if so...what should my minimum stats be before I start?

My current set is:
Snowglobe Staff
Downsize!
Leaf Shield
Stone Club
Ice Club
Greater Healing Scroll
Illusens Earth Potion
Purple Sticky Hand

I have 1.4 million NPs at the moment...while i need to keep some for training...I could spend some more on getting better items...

What should I do?...if I can get better items to help me get some avvies that is what i'm aiming for at the moment...

not sure if i will be doing 1 player, 2 player, or whatever (what are all the different options?..goods/bads of each?)...
why do you still have Illusens Earth Potion when the best it can do is what your constant weapons do? (Ice Club and Stone Club) I would replace it with Honey Potion and upgrade Stone Club to Scuzzys Comb. I would say use a Slime Potion as your healer but you'd probably outgrow it with training pretty soon so keep the Greater Healing Scroll and you should have about 390k left over for training. If you want, consider getting a Mystical White Cloak and keeping it in your SDB or gallery, equipping to another pet etc. just storing it. Combining that with Leaf Shield is a great combination.
I have in Earth Potion because i was told to get that by someone Smile...i just got all the stuff i have today...

would the slime potion be better than the Greater Healing Scroll at the moment?

and about the cloak...when would i need to combine that with leaf shield? (you say at a later time i might need it...how much later?)

I don't know, I think the healing of the greater healing scroll varies by pet's stats. Try it out and if it heals less than 10, consider using the slime potion temporarily

If you happen to only have 7 items in your set for any reason, also you can check the 1-p challengers to see what weapons they have, if you face one that uses light, air and/or dark take out one of your other items and use the cloak. Also don't be afraid to swap the leaf shield with the cloak, some opponents don't use much earth, water, or physical. Another great time is when your facing an opponent with a bad weapon that gets stolen, you can swap it in for the purple sticky hand
Hello, Creed. Welcome to the world of battling Smile

First of all, I would advice you to split the funds you have currently into two: 1 mil for weapons, and 0.4 mil for training. You can never get far with those stats. Sorry to say but that is the truth. Also do you have a plan as to how you are gonna train your pet ie whether or not you gonna train it as a well balanced pet, or a more defence- or strength-heavy pet? These will help you determine the course of your training and avoid unnecessary expences later on.

Secondly, the order of healer upgrades that I would suggest would be Slime Potion - Blue Scorchstone - Greater Healing Scroll, with:

Slime Potion - being used when your pet is between 10-30 hps

Blue Scorchstone - being used when your pet is between 20-100 hps

Greater Healing Scroll - being used when your pet is between 50-150 hps

Thirdly, Dlb is right to say that Illusens Earth Potion is too weak for your set (the person who suggested it must be stuck at the time when 6 iconers reign Toungue). In 1-player battles, where the icon matter less, your Stone Club and Ice Club already suffice for now. But since you have quite a good budget to work with, these are the things I would suggest that you add:

Golden Compass
Ethereal Sword

With these two weapons in your set, you don't need to have the Mystical White Cloak at all, because the defences of these two weapons would suffice to replace the Cloak's defence (except the air, of course. But in 1 player, defence matter less as well).

After getting these two weapons, only then should you look to getting a Honey Potion (might need to save up just a little bit more, though).

Happy battling Smile
Now, normally I wouldn't dream of intruding into Cadaver's set advice, but I'd just like to point out that the Lesser Healing Scroll is a very worthy healing stepping stone between the Slime Potion and the Blue SS.
i already have a Blue SS, so i'll get all that other stuff and probably gonna wait till i've got at least 10+ all stats...or should i wait till 20?

as to the defense/offensive side of the house...i haven't figured that out yet...since i'm just starting...i'm not sure which style i would like better...

so i should replace my clubs with those two weapons you mentioned cadaver?
No, keep your clubs. Replace the potion and the Purple Sticky Hand/Snowglobe Staff depending on whether you choose 1p or 2p (replace the sticky hand if you choose 2p, staff is 1p).

Stealing isn't that useful in 2p, since most people keep junk is their 1st slot so you don't get anything useful. Freezing isn't so much required for 1p as it is in 2p, and the Snowglobe Staff may not freeze enough to be worth it.
Heya Big Grin First, get your stats to at least the 35 boost. You want your Strength and Defence to be at 35 and your HP to be near that. I'd say around the 40's. I wouldn't touch speed or even intelligence (anti Jittery Jipple Potion/Steaming Skeem Potion) Next, you have to figure out whether you want to play 1-P, 2-P or both because it will affect your training and weapon choice significantly. I personally only play 1-P for DoN, avatars, and Wars. Doing 1-P over and over can get boring really quick :s 2-P is where it's at Big Grin Next you want to figure out if you want to be an all out offensive figher or a more defensive minded fighter. This could be addressed later though, once you get to at least the 35 boost. These are my recommendations for your set:

2-Player: (leave the Snowglobe Staff in the SDB and ask for no freeze fights)
1. Leaf Shield (first slot as your primary GoC's get past this if it is stolen)
2. Downsize!
3. Thief Dagger (Defends common light and phys icons)
4. Golden Compass (Nice icons + defends common dark icons)
5. Golden Compass (Nice icons + defends common dark icons)
6. Honey Potion (save and work towards this bomb)
7. Steaming Skeem Potion (check your opponent's pet first, make sure it meets req.)
8. Blue Scorchstone (the 30hp OVERHEAL would be BETTER than the GHS at the level and stats you're fighting at)
SDB: Snowglobe Staff, Purple Sticky Hand, Scarab Ring

Remember, that you'll have to get your defence to be even with your strength to get the most out of this set. If you want to take the 1-P route change the GoC's to Ice Clubs, change the SSP to a Snowglobe Staff, Thief Dagger to a PSH, and possibly SDB your Leaf Shield with another 9 iconer. (with different icons from the IClubs)

Rawwr, goodluck Big Grin
wow...a friend just donated me 3 million nps...does this change anything??? lol...

also, my aim is to get my avvies first, then go to 2 player i suppose if it's more fun...

also...what is DoN?

so many different recommendations, lol...i'm so confused...though i've been doing training just about every 2 hours...currently up to

Lvl : 10
Str : 7
Def : 9
Mov : 8
Hp : 17 / 17

(glad to see the forum is back...been down all day)

oh...and i really appreciate all the advice Big Grin
Defenders of Neopia! It's a 1 player thing, first off you need the pant devil as an opponent, and basically you get a different trophy for each 1 player opponent you are asked to fight! (Presuming you win of course!)

Righto, I'd say get to the 35 boost or if you get tired of it, the 20 boost!
So in total you would have 4.4M?
Like Cadaver said put aside 0.4M in training, the reason you're not going to put more than that into training is because I am assuming you will still be earning NP everyday!
Now I have a serious question for you! Do you really like your pet? You could morph it into a chia/lenny, or maybe even create a new chia/lenny, whichever would be easier for you and get a Entangling Lenny Lasso or Icy Chia Goggles. The chia goggles being cheaper, but also you know...you'd have to be a chia Toungue
Anyway a 100% freezer could really be useful now and in the future! Next you'd need a weapon to complement your freezer...Honey Potion.
That should be you down to 1M, assuming you go for the Chia.
Next sell stone club, and get a Golden Compass.
Sell Illusens Earth Potion as you will have a constant which outdamages this now. With the remainder you would perhaps be interested in going for Ramtors Spellbook.

Quick Summary
Snowglobe Staff >>>Icy Chia Goggles/Entangling Lenny Lasso
Downsize! >>> Keep
Leaf Shield >>> Keep
Stone Club >>> Golden Compass as it has the added dark defence which may at some point save you in a battle.
Ice Club >>> Keep, for the reason that this is how you will counter light defences!
Greater Healing Scroll >>>Blue Scorchstone would be better until you have at least 65/70 HP, as it will overheal, so if you have 20 Max hitpoint, and you lose 10 hp, a Greater healing scroll will heal 10, whereas a Blue scorchstone will heal 30!
Illusens Earth Potion >>> Honey Potion
Purple Sticky Hand >>> Keep this in your SDB for certain 1 player opponents, but Ramtors Spellbook would be more useful!
You will find a remainder of cash, this is the part which confused me a little, you will find roughly 600k in there, at first I was going to put in a SCuzzys Comb in there but I realised you wouldn't be able to do anything if somebody had a Dusty Magic Broom or a similar light defender!
You could obviously save it, or get a Prickly Potion for some of the harder DoN missions, and of course the Sophies Magic Hat wouldn't be bad to defend some extra fire damage.
I think the set listed above is what i would go for, the rest is entirely upto you!
