So who's getting this game? I loved the first two Primes, and I have this one pre-ordered. Smile The trailer from the channel you download looks AMAZING.
I'm hoping to get it for my birthday, and I've heard it's awesome and it'll be difficult with the Wiiiiiiiiii!
I'm not sure whether I'll pick it up right away or not, but it's definitely on my list of games-to-get. I actually wasn't very impressed (graphically) by the trailers, though. Is there a demo for it out? 'cause the EB near me has the game out for play (which, oddly, looked better to me than the demos, but 480 progressive shouldn't be making that much of a difference over 480 interlaced, should it?).

No, no demo Sad I'm not a graphics junkie, so the graphics weren't really what I was looking at Toungue And I have no idea how 480p vs. 480i would look. Toungue

Well, after playing it for a couple days, I can safely say it's a must-buy for anyone with a Wii. The Wiimote + Nunchuck works SO much better than the other Prime's clunky lock-on system, and graphics-wise it's easily the best game on the Wii.

EDIT: Double-post FTL. Merge please. Smile

Spaz: I'll just leave it, it was 3 days after the other post.

EDIT by GIR: Merge'd Toungue
Uhm, I'm gone for a while and you start talking about cool games? Ha, ha.

Man It was about time for the Wii to get a decent game, I'd pick it right now.. If I weren't european. But as soon as it gets here, I'm 100% sure about picking it up. Prime 1 & 2 were awesome, despite the control issues, and this is the last one in the Prime series. My only fear is it being too short.

I like the prime series (even Prime Hunters despite being a bit dissapointing) but now they only need to make a new 2D metroid for the Ds (Dread?) and they can just wait for the money to fall right into their heads. My money, at least.

Yeah, Hunters was a disappointment.

And I stink at the multiplayer, so... Toungue And another 2D Metroid would be amazing.

EDIT: Added spoiler, don't know if that's a spoiler per se, but...

I wouldn't really call it a spoiler, but to continue off-topic for a moment...

Hunters was bad because it was too much shooter and too little Metroid. The Hunters were all awesome, but multiplayer was about all the game really had. And I sucked at multiplayer, too.

I would have picked up Corruption by now, but I'm finishing Valkyrie Profile (several years late), and I'm debating picking up PokeMon Diamond for the Manaphy Event at the end of September. I'll be picking it up for sure within the next month, though.

Also, I forced one of my friends to finish Prime two nights ago, so he could finally move onto Prime 2 happily. (He was wanting to pick up everything before he confronted the final boss, but he was already ready to fight so I talked him into finishing it. Three attempts later, he won.)

Cooldude, be sure to let us know how long it takes you to finish it.

Edit: As of Saturday evening, I'm two(?) hours into Corruption.
Hm. Now that I've gotten off my lazy butt found time to finish it, I'll necromance the thread. It took me about 15.5 hours on Normal, but it seemed like a lot less... And lol about Prime 1; I never actually finished it Toungue I beat the final boss on my friend's game, and I'm up to it on mine, so I've "technically" beat it... Toungue Now to cajole someone into buying a Wii and the game so I can get Friend Vouchers...

[edit] Yeah, I hope Veteran ramps up the difficulty a lot... I think I only died once, maybe twice. The final boss was rather pathetic... The "timer" kinda balanced it though.
I don't recall off-hand how long it took me (I'm still sitting on my Friend Vouchers). Normal was definitely disappointingly easy (apparently Hyper Mode is crazy). The first of the... shall we say "three" bosses gave me the most trouble. I also died once due to acid rain (I think that's the first time I've seen environment damage handled exponentially). The final battles were disappointing, and I suppose it was to be expected due to the circumstances.

An amazing game certainly, and the "best" in the series, but not without its short-comings. It was also disappointingly linear (though not to the point of Hunters).

[edit] Spoiler'd.
I'd suggest putting those in spoilers, Wink. Aside from the War Golem bit, since I don't think there's any way of knowing that's a boss until you fight it (unlike with the others).

I don't remember any of Prime 2's bosses, except for the last two. On the same lines, I don't remember Prime's very much either, but I enjoyed Prime's world more than Echoes'. After playing Corruption (and feeling like we were handed nearly every power-up in the game), I can't really remember whether Prime was anywhere near as bad about that.

I didn't pick up Zero Mission. Was it just a port, or a full remake of the original? I faintly recall one of my friends having to screw jump a long ways in a narrow area for a missile expansion, or something, and I don't think the screw jump was in the original.

It's surprising that more people don't speed-run the 3D Metroids. I mean, Metroid was probably responsible for inventing the concept. I know it's been done, but it's certainly more common with the 2D games.
