Also there is some dispute about the advisability of "Maxing out" any character's skills too early in the game. Because the characters earn equipment upgrades during the game that can + or - a particular skill, some say it is better to only buy skills up to 11 in any category, and wait until later in the game, right before Terask, to see whether an equipment item boosts a skill level to or close to max; thereby leaving you with points to spend on a different skill.

I'd recommend waiting as well, wait until after you defeated Terask I, since he gives out weapons as well. You can spend up to about 10 extra points if you get the right weapons. And that will definitely help. If you follow idnq's guide in level and skill build, you shouldn't have much trouble with monsters and bosses. Terask II is mainly hard because you can't withdraw, and having an extra skill really pays off
