I'm pretty much a 1p only battler, but i'm not ruling out 2p in the future. My biggest concern right now is getting a better healer after I get a g-shield (6mill saved so far).... should I go straight to Crisp Blue Tunic, or are there any intermediate suggestions??

Current: Downsize!
Ring of the Lost
Honey Potion
Winged Scarab
Leaf Shield
Greater Healing Scroll
Fungus Ray
Ancient Lupe Wand

pet: Lupe (non-lab)
Lvl: 114
Health: 223
Str: 213
Def: 195
Train DEF to 200 for the next boost.

If you're going to remain a Lupe, then the Greater Healing Scroll would be nice until it becomes the same as Regeneration (150hp). In this case, it isn't, so Lenny morph might be good. Let's not focus on the healer.

I suggest that you will not need a Ghostkershield as you already have Ring of the Lost in your set. Also, Winged Scarab and Leaf Shield have physical defence overlap, which I don't know how to handle.

One main thing you can do is to replace Winged Scarab with Wand of Reality. Winged Scarab won't do you any good because you have a high defence (I personally think that Winged Scarab is for a lab rat ;P).

Anyways, GL with your set.
I guess I forgot to mention that i'm currently training defence Toungue I'm about a month away from getting my g-shield, and that will evict the leaf shield from my set.
As for the wand of reality, i've really been thinking about finally doing the insane on nq2 and hopefully getting that or the Bow of Destiny...

Thx for the suggestions, they've given me something to consider!
If you do 1-player only, I'd probably recommend a Bag of Healing Dust over the tunic. You'll never outgrow its usefulness, as it'll always heal half your max HP, and it's much easier to use; you won't need to make sure you are 100 HP below your max and your opponent has at least 100 HP left. The tunic is great in 2-player, especially against someone with 200-400 hit points, but in 1-player you'll mostly be fighting guys with four or five times as many HP as you, and it's not going to swing the battle quite as much. Even right now, it'd only heal you 100 HP, while the BoHD would heal 111/112 (and that gap's going to get wider as you train). It's still an awesome little weapon, though.

I also agree with mathbits about the Gshield; having it and RotL is kind of redundant.

And definitely do NQII and try to get one of the 13-iconers, saving yourself some cash. Smile
ok, i'm absolutely blind or something.... I know I haven't looked up G-shield in ages, but I swore it was a full fire blocker, not dark. I guess i'll find an alternative for that but I don't think I want the faerie tabard (not much use for the water defence, really).....

I like the healing dust idea for the healing slot, Cranberry.... You make a strong case for it not losing it's usefullness. Besides, I like my darigan lupe as is rather than going kacheek
Also consider saving for a H4000 Helmet. It's not really a priority, but the cost of the ALW will add up over time.
I agree that I'll need the H4000 eventually, but for now it's not a priority. Being premium, I can usually snipe The lupe wands for under 1k when I need them. Right now, I have 27 in my SDB. Plus i've been fairly lucky that I usually get around 40-50 uses before they break.

Side topic: can someone pass on the tags for linking to the database? I took a quick look around the forums but haven't found a thread that shows them... Thx!!
The code is [*idb]Weapon Name[*/idb], but without the stars. Smile

I always had good luck with the Ancient Lupe Wands, too. I got a Freezing Potion eventually, though, and morphed to mutant gelert for the healer. I think the Tyrannian Lupe looks bad after the revamp, so I'm kinda glad I did, now.
For being "pretty much" a One Player battler, you're taking the Two Player route about your stats and set. There's nothing wrong with that if you've decided you are going to go that route, but as long as you're focused on One Player you should only be keeping the thought in the back of your mind.

First off, the species debate: unless I'm mistaken, Bag of Healing Dust is currently going for 7 mil plus. H4000 Helmet and Freezing Potion are cheaper, and the total cost of morphing to Kacheek and going with the Kacheek Life Potion is still cheaper.

Even beyond that, in strict One Player battling a healer is not necessary. You can do more with more HP, Drain Life, and Regeneration. In Two Player, on the other hand, you'll need a 50% healer.

You're only running two (real) weapons: Fungus Ray and Ring of the Lost. You're covering five icon types with these two, and you're very likely to find a part of that being blocked. You should be consolidating your icon types, and have more diversity available to yourself. Depending on your budget, Bow of Destiny, Scuzzys Comb, and Essence of Esophagor are the three weapons to look at (and you'll want to dual one of them with a dual of another as backup). You'll either be able to get your full attack through regardless, or be able to get through a full attack with your backups (in the case of the Bow, if you're just losing Fire then you're still averaging 10 each).

From a Two Player standpoint, Wand of Reality is better comboed with Pirate Captains Cutlass than any strategy that can be used with the Bow. Something to keep in mind (though the Wand overlaps Light and Physical with the Combs, which would force Essences as backups to it). On the other hand, the Bow can pummel Sink.

Toss your Leaf Shield into your SDB, and sell your Winged Scarab (possibly upgrading to Yooyuball Player Sling, which is probably very inflated by now). It's not effective because of your high Defense. The Honey Potion is more useful in Two Player, and from a strictly One Player standpoint could be sold for the cash.

Why are you even looking for Fire Defense? Just because of Portable Kiln and Mask of Coltzan?

Personally, I'd recommend deciding now whether Two Player is going to be in your (at least near) future. If it's not, just keep training your Defense (for the possible "maybe someday"). Your budget is also much more open if you rule Two Player out (at least for the time being). If not, my advice would be a bit more specific rather than having each point dependent on which route you're taking.

Also, there's a chance this won't come out clearly since I'm typing it when I should be in bed.
Point well-taken (and coherant despite your tiredness Toungue)

I know the easy route for healing is heading the Kacheek route and buying Kacheek Life Potion but i'm sticking with the lupe for sentimental and freezing capability reasons, so I think i'll go with bag of healing dust... Cranberry sold the thought too well.

As for the rest, I agree that the winged scarab should go now that i've reached 200 boost in defence but Yooyuball Player Sling IS too inflated right now.

The debate that i'm having with myself is how i'm going to continue battling. Generally I believe in having a balanced attack, and a contingency defence. I like being able to keep the mix of icons that the ring of the lost and fungus ray give me, and also like being able to switch up my defence to adapt to whatever 1p opponent that i'm up against. I need a better shield, plain and simple. That's why I was originally considering the ghostkershield (until I realized I misread the icons. D'OH!), but now i'll be looking for an alternate. And of course my budget is quite limited. I only make 400-500K a week or thereabouts.

I imagine that when I cross the healing hurdle, i'll just be making a new board on suggestions for what I should do next
Like I said, the Ancient Lupe Wands plus Bag of Healing Dust will cost more than an H4000 Helmet/Freezing Potion plus a Kacheek Life Potion. The KLP can also net some extra recovery beyond that 50%, which is easier to take further advantage of in One Player battling. But I understand the sentimental reasons, so I'll just leave the facts spoken rather than advocated.

You shouldn't be looking at shields at all. Full-blockers/reflectors will be better (and arguably may be better) than even what the Ghostkershield and Tabard can manage (strictly One Player speaking). Most opponents primarily deal one type of icon, and your standard shields (and even dual-duties) will fall well short of a raw attack.

Again, I'm not sure how inflated the Sling is, but it's possibly the second-best full-blocking dual-duty right now (second to Ring of the Lost). Physical is usually the common denominator of icon types, and the Sling is the best counter to them. The Yooyuball Keepers Chest Guard isn't quite as good, is definitely inflated (going for around 1.5, I think), but might properly satisfy your preference towards icon-based defense with the little extra it offers.

Otherwise, you're looking at the other full-blockers/reflectors, and the cost on those adds up, and there's not really a place to start (unless you're looking from the Two Player perspective).
