Zapping my pet has worked out very well for me so far, the thing to keep in mind is even if you hit a bad run for weeks even, you should come out ahead in the long run. I haven't zapped my pet for weeks because of hitting to much hp to train stats, but they are starting to even out now.

Thanks for the tip. I'm giving that a go.
I'm not a great restocker. I'm only making about 100,000 profit a day. Which isn't shabby - but with training and wanting a better set 100k/daily just isn't going to cut it.

Maybe I was too hasty in giving up labbing. My bad run (losing defense points nearly every DAY, specifically) only lasted just under a month before I lost my patience. Maybe eventually I'll get back on it. MAYBE. And eventually.
So stats increases in the last 24 hours:
level: 4
HP: 2
Strength: 1
Defence: 0
Agility: 0
Intelligence: 0
All from kitchen quests, except for the one faerie quest I got. I'm losing my patience with the codestones. So expensive. So slow. I'll probably do kitchen quests for the next while until I hit a bad run with that.
If you lab for str and HP and codestone/kitchen quest/scratchcard train defence and level at the same time, you can build a balanced pet more quickly. Some days it'll seem like you're wasting your time, if you train def or level and then the lab just takes it away, but overall, you will be saving a
lot of time and NP thanks to all that free strength and the many hit points. You only have to train two stats insead of four, after all. You just need to stop every now and then and codestone train only if your pet starts to get too unbalanced.
