Hm... Lucas (a character from Mother, the series Ness is from) just got confirmed. The website didn't say anything, but I'm wondering if this means that Ness got the axe. I remember hearing a rumor that in Melee, Sakurai wanted Lucas to replace Ness... *speculates*
They could always make it so that when you change his color he can look like Ness. Like Peach could look like Daisy in melee.

Sonic the Hedgehog confirmed to be playable! Not that this is surprising, but still, it's nice to have "official" confirmation.
Yeah but that last thing they mentioned about Sonic was that his appearance was unlikely.
It's been delayed in the US until Feb.
Psh Sonic in Brawl was something me and my friends joked about, but then there he is. Bully, I hate and like it. I think he's going to require some handling, but I heard that Fox, Shiek and Falco players will go well with him.
This does suck it's been delayed till Feb 10th, mainly because I had planned to get Sonic Riders: Zero-G the 19th and now I have to play this AND Brawl. Ahh well, I'll get the hang of Pit then jump to Sonic Riders.
Glad I got my Wii. It's sold out where I live.

It's got a few flaws, but it's not a bad concept. It's only twenty bucks, so it wouldn't be a huge waste of money if you didn't like it.
