While everyone else is going in the bottom door, the Mage and Thief should go....

The Magician and Thief make their way to the top center door.

A magician has to be able to teleport through obstacles on the bottom half of the map. He/she will be required to break through multiple piles of rocks and a box to obtain a key to give to the thief.

Once the thief has the key, he/she will have to use Dark Sight to get past Dark Muscle Stones(insta-death hits) on the upper platform. (Tips: If using low-level Dark Sight which prevents from jumping to the platform with the monsters, it is possible to wait until a spot is clear to jump without Dark Sight and use the skill immediately upon landing. I think it was possible with level 3 Dark Sight.) The thief drops the key on the door to unlock it. The next screen will contain a Longinus Spear chained up. Hitting it will release it, and like the other Spears, needs to be picked up while jumping.

Four Portals- Section 4
The correct bottom portal is 2 which will teleport you to portal 4 on the top. Portal 3 on the second level will take you to the box containing the Robe.
For the thieves + archers "surviving Ergoth" thing, CB's have Meso Guard that grants them increased survivability.

And archers/hermits can't survive Ergoth at level 85 unless they have HB, and even then I'd err on the side of being level 90 in case you've gotten some bad HP increases.

[EDIT] misread section - the "and has enough HP to survive" I read as "to have enough HP to survive" D:
Oka, if you're referring to my low-level Dark Sight the first time I did that part of the GQ, I had level 5, not 3. If you aren't, ignore me Toungue

And I'm pretty sure I lost 5% experience when I died against those stupid slimes in the under-level-30 part. Not that I really feel like double-checking on my next time through.

The level I gave is only what I think they'll need to be at to do adequate damage. To be effective, they'll need to both do enough damage AND have enough hp.

I'll wait to hear from other people to see if you can lose more than 1%.

I'd suggest a higher level for the minimum warrior level. I can do half-decent damage to statues at my level right now, but on Ergoth my damage is under 1k per hit...and I miss a good amount of the time.

Just curious, do you know about how much damage Yoshi did/does on Ergoth?

Also, about JQ1 on the spear stage: If you don't have any speed gear, you can't simply grab the first rope, but have to jump and land on the first (of two) platforms and you'll bounce safely onto the second. I'll provide a screenshot of where you have to jump from without speed gear after the next GQ.
For the earring stage, I think the mdef varies from 9-11

I can 100% Ergoth, hitting about 1.1K on average I would say (he's not elementally weak to anything but Holy.... hello 4th job >_> )... although... I was only level 80-81 last time I GQed
Dark Sight level 3 lasts for 30 seconds, so that should be long enough to walk down, drop, and enter the room.
Actually Oka, with the speed it takes away, it might not. I'll time it and stuff next time I do it, so we can get exact numbers Big Grin
I added a rather crappy description of how I do the papers/medals/etc., added the function of the left lion statue, and corrected minor problems in Spaz's grammar. Wink

EDIT: Oh, and I would personally re-arrange and re-name parts of the Spear section... but that's just me.
I keep a text file of the guide without the bbcode, and every change I make the post, I make in the text file. Please DO NOT edit the post. If you have corrections to make, however minor, post them. I have reverted to the old version and added the things that you added.

Does the left lion statue actually heal?
