My sister downloads a bunch of crap, and somehow we got this stupid toolbar on Firefox. It was called MyWebSearch or something, and I got rid of it with Spybot.
Unfortunately, it left a giant white space at the top of the page, and it's REALLY pissing me off. Any ideas on how to get rid of it?
Have you tried to see if there's uninstall in your control panel for the toolbar?
I checked, and it's not there. At least, not that I can recognize.
Well make your sister use IE from now on
I'm not sure if this would definitely solve the problem, but what I would do is completely uninstall Firefox and reinstall it again.
Sounds like your sister downloaded one or more "Fun Web" products. Joy. I do hope that uninstall/reinstall Firefox fixes the problem, because the manual remove of MyWebSearch is extremely nasty work, involving nicking individual files, and registry entries.

Yep, that's exactly what it was. I HATE her so much right now. Is uninstalling and reinstalling Firefox or creating a new profile going to make me have to redownload Ad-block and put all that together again, put in all of my Neopets ad removal and the editing there, and redo the stuff I did today for pipelining? If so I'm going to KILL her.
This actually isn't the first time this has happened either. Last time re-installing Firefox worked, although I'm not sure how I'm going to re-download it if I uninstall it.
Download it before uninstalling and make sure you don't forget where you save it.

I do not use Ad-block, so not sure about that, but I have unin and reinstalled before and managed to keep my extensions, so the uninstall obviously leaves some settings in place. Creating a new profile, however, could actually have the effect, since it creates a new identity.
