We have no need of "AC!"
Once things get "snowballing," they'll be no stopping us!
People who don't join TM risk getting the "cold finger."

On a more serious note:

Is anyone else intruiged by the fact that switched to a double-round-robin with daily matches? It seems almost as though TNT is trying harder and harder to give us reasons to "always 'need' to be on neo." Last year, I would put my work off to days when there wasn't a match in progress, whenever possible, but... bleh. Also, now, I'm presented with an interesting delemia every day of when to RS and when to play. I neglected RSing durring matches last year, and pending the non-re-release of the Altador Coloseum stamps, that was definately a worthwile desicion, but... well, for one thing, with the cost of training, neglecting RSing for the whole month of June would decrease my current nps by over 1 mil, a though which makes me cringe, especially since I'm working towards an SoS right now. Also, if TNT continues thier current trend of worsening prizes... Puke.

I think I'll decide on a Work:RSingTounguelaying ratio on a day-to-day basis this time around.

I think it may have to do with neopets now being owned by a public traded company (viacom, the owners of paramount pictures, mtv, comedy channel etc.) so much bigger focus on the bottom line, neopets primaily makes money off advertising (maybe premium now). The more people on for longer periods of time means more page hits and therefore more advertising dollars.

Whatever they are doing it seems to be working though, as today is the first time that I have seen players online over 60k (I don't check very often, so this may just be coincidence)

They may be making money off of Premium users, but I will be d#*&@! if they seem to care about us anymore. There are days I wonder why I still bother paying when they seem to be giving more and more features to non-premium and less to us. I do not even actively promote Premium these days, since I have a hard time justifying it to new users.

To keep this OT: I have a feeling the schedule is not so much marketing, as accounting. As in: "scoring accounting". It had to be a small nightmare last year with all the people switching teams, and having to track their points. The round robin with no switching sounds like a much simpler scoring mechanism, with less headaches for the staff. I notice nothing has been mentioned about a side Staff Tournament, so that may be a part of simplifying things.
Has anyone practised a little with the new balls?
I don't understand the clockwork one.. It kinda seems impossible to score with it.. The coupld times i see it in play, this is what happens:

'Opponent center gets ball, passes to the wing. boom. Next ball.'

It doesn't really allow enough time for anything..
I'm really looking forward to the cup, i've decided to join the lost desert this year Smile

It should be more fair with the double round robin, but i'll be stretched for time to actually play the game.

The faerie ball is really hard for me, and the game has a few glitches like randomly adding time onto the match.

And I made a set for LD, which I am using at PPT and idb atm <3

If you press space when they show the ball coming up it skips the intro and gives you more time before the robot Yooyu a-splodes.

ooh!
I didn't realise you could even do that!
Is this new this year, or could you do it as well last year?

It's always been like that. =3

Somehow I don't think I would have been too perturbed if Customization was a Premium-only feature.

You could do that last year. Smile. Believe me, even though there wasn't the clockwork Yooyu last year... that trick is golden. If you're playing 1000s of games, you're doing it for the points, and gambling that the fun you'll have with the prizes will be worth it. You'll be BORED AS HECK while playing, however, and probably WILL NOT have the patientince to sit through dumb cutscenes. That's why TNT coded the trick into the game.

As for practicing with the new yooyus... I'm fairly handy with all of the yooyus, although I could still use some work on the darigan one Blush. I can SOMETIMES score with that one in 5 seconds, but sometimes... well... it takes me over a minute Blush. For some reason, I'm finding the Faerie and Mutant Yooyus alot easier this year... fir the Faerie yooyu, I've gotten pretty good at shooting from just the right distance to get around the gollie, and for the mutant Yooyu, I'm Shooting sorta like with the fire/ snow/ normal/ clockwork Yooyus, but trying to shoot it so that if it decides to curve a bit, it will still go in the goal.

guys, apart of saying that if you havent you must sign up with krawk island, 2 things
1. somebody knows more tricks for the game?
2. it will be cool if TNT releases as a prize the clockwork yooyu, you know, as a bomb like Honey Potion or better Toungue it could be?

That would be awesome. Ohmy But I have low hopes for AC prizes this year. Things have been going downhill for a while. Im playing more for my team than prizes this year.

I've never tried Yooyuball before Saturday night and stink at it. My question is does it help your team if you score goals, say losing 3-5, more than losing 0-9, or do you need to beat the opposing team to do any good for your team?
