I'm not completely sure whether it's useful (though I'm leaning towards not useful). Since my pet isn't all that strong yet (though it's improving) it may be good for now. And it's hard to beat free. However, since I have a Leaf Shield, and I plan to get Downsize once it deflates again, the usefulness is diminished.

My pet is at level 8, has the 8 strength boost, the 13 defense boost, and 11 HP. Currently, he has the Leaf Shield, Caustic Potion, Mud Mixture, Scarab Ring, and Slime Potion.

If you don't have 8 weapons yet, and you don't want to spend during war inflation, go ahead and put it into your set. You could do a lot worse.

It's pretty decent for a freebie weapon, but you'll likely upgrade past it in not too long.

You'll outgrow it quickly: any three-offense six-defense weapon is too situational to be worthwhile as a general rule. It's definitely inferior in One Player. (Defense is largely a Two Player aspect.)
