I just got a copy of the original starcraft to get back into the mood ^_^ Hours of fun. I really am impatient for this.
I finally realized that there's a patch on the Apple website to let me run StarCraft in OS X. ::.Missed that a year ago when he got his MacBook.:: I never got to be "good," but the game was incredible. Not to mention the Map/Campaign Editor was probably the first good editor for any game I'd stumbled across. ::.Fondly remembers the DBZ maps, and playing them on Battle.net even though he wasn't much of a DBZ fan.::
How was WarCraft III, by the way? I never ended up picking it up, and the way Heiper was talking I was getting the impression that he thought it was just a cheap ploy for Blizzard to make easy money.
Starcraft was decent, but I was always a bigger Diablo fan... Although I will probably get this game

I was a huge Diablo fan as well but I didn't quite like Diablo 2 as much as the first one. It got too lengthy in my opinion. I still have the hellfire expension for diablo which added a few levels. That was really cool ^_^
Yeah, although I was obsessed with D2:LOD, Hellfire was amazing... man good times

I remember those sleepless nights playing Brood War...Good times. I can't wait to try the Protoss Mothership
Shattered Rift, Warcraft III was awesome. Great gameplay and decent storyline. World of Warcraft is blizzard's money making

I think it's a little funny, because my brother is HUGE about this game...and he hasn't even played the expansion yet. He's going to freak when he sees the new game coming. Granted, he doesn't have a computer which can play it, but he's still going to freak.

I heard they're taking out some of the original units from this game. I heard they're taking out the protoss reaver for some odd reason.

Ahh, those fun little worms which dispensed explosive bombs. They were an interesting commodity, especially when you have unlimited minerals...but when it's limited, they can be very costly. Then there's the fact they are so slow. I'm sure thy were unpopular with a lot of players, and were rarely used. That would be my guess why they would be taken out, because the makers of the game want all the untis to be balanced in some way, and not have players rely on one unit all of the time.

I've been owned hundreds of times by those damn worms in Battle.net... They were slow but very effective against hordes of little ground units (like my zerlings) and if you managed to drop them in the middle of the opponent's base with some transport ship... The damage was imbeliable.
I like the idea of taking out some units: it's a new game, after all.

Pfft... The gameplay was ok, the graphics were cool for the time, the cinematic videos were awesome, but the plot... Oh my god, the plot. It sucked. It was a good game, but not an excelent game. (It's just my point of view, dont set my house on fire or somethhing like that)

To me, the plot kind of seemed like a rerun from Starcraft. First start with the Humans, destroying themselves by greed and arrogance. Then the rise of the baddies, and even here one of the previously 'good humans' has been turned evil (remember Kerrigan?). The comeback is spread over the Orcs and Night Elves campaign, at first distrusting every other race and fighting only for themselves, but in the end combining their powers to finish off the Zerg.. I mean Undead.
I kind of liked Starcraft because of the marvelous gameplay and the old school graphics. I dunno about Starcraft 2, it looks kind of.. blown up. I guess time will tell if it's as good as the first one
