Full Version: Levelling Up...Weapons?

Recently TNT has added the level of your weapon in the battledome. Most of you probably have noticed, others probably haven't....but they're there. So far all weapons are on level 1 and from what I've heard this isn't a glitch either. TNT is supposedly planning for battlers to be able to level up their weapon which supposedly will affect its power.

Any thoughts on this...rather...personally speaking its just another stupid idea like the petpets that'll probably end in failure and just mess up the battledome for a while.

If any, how would "leveling up" work and is it a good idea?

Financially speaking I can't see it working either.

Is TNT dumbing down the site to make it more like an RPG?

My theory on levelling up....if it does happen the higher level of your weapon...its possible the more icons it will do or fractionals possibly or possibly added effects?

If that happens, what would be the point of dishing out to buy a Ghostkerbomb if you can just level up a Honey Potion or RCG until it does up to or more than it?
Because a leveled up ghostker will do more than a leveled up HP or RCG.
They started to put weapon levels in at one point in the past: It didn't work out, and was removed. I don't know for sure if that's what will happen now, and considering the recent and drastic changes to the site, I guess past actions aren't such a great basis to go on, but that's my theory, like it or not.

If weapon levels are included, I believe it will work sort of like a strength boost: Adding additional damage per existing icon on top of what you already do. And the point of disihing out cash for a Gbomb over an HP or RCG is still right there. Say you level up an RCG four or five times to get a Gbomb's strength. Now take those four or five upgrades and tag them on the Gbomb. I'm going to say the bomb is even more powerful Wink

I would also bet that it will be either insanely expensive, or else it will make such a small difference that it won't matter if one player has level 25 weapons and one player has level 1 weapons.

The funny thing is: how are weapon supposed to gain levels? I mean, they should't be able!
The pets are supossed to be alive beings, they can talk, think and Learn. They need teaching to reach higher levels. I don't see how this can be applied on weapons.

Seems like a bad idea to me.

Edit: Well, if a blacksmith and some np or something is involved, it would make some sense. As long as they don't win experience points....
It's very possible that someone unfamiliar with the BD code accidentally made them viewable again. (Since it's very doubtful they ever really "removed" them, given that removing them entirely would involve a slight risk of hitting the wrong button and doing actual damage to the BD, whereas leaving them there would allow possible reintroduction later if they ever changed their minds.) I doubt anything will come from this.

True, however, I should have been more specific in my arguement.

Sure, buying a Gbomb and levelling up from there saves time because your starting at a higher icon point, but for budget battlers more so, they would rather spend a mere fraction and invest more time in levelling (This is also assuming levelling up doesn't cost much). Doesn't that become rather unfair? Financially speaking, its a slap in the face for all those who've spent so much on their sets when someone on budget or someone being cheap can spend a fraction and invest more time to achieve the same status.

I'm guessing TNT wants to even up the playing field yet again for newbies by doing this. I'm sure many have complained about high prices so TNT decides that upgrading low cost weapons to match high priced ones is a solution. I'm also assuming this is why TNT flooded the market with 6-10 iconers in the recent months.

hm... could affect the overall damage count, like weapon level applies with your str and stance with the weapon, like a level 10 10 iconer dealing 30 damage with a 35 boost with berserk.
Okay, I'm going to let myself fantasize for a moment here:

What if there was some sort of quest you could do (Battle Faerie quest, for instance), and succeeding gave you a level to use on your weapons. Levels could then be spent on upgrades, like fireproofing a Leaf Shield (adding fire defense) or polishing a Sword of Skardsen (adding some light icons) - but each weapon could only have a certain number of levels used on it (say, 3 or so), and the total number of upgrades available for any weapon would be above that number, so that one person's maxed-out G-bomb wouldn't necessarily look the same as another's.

Anyhow, in reality, I'm leaning towards Shattered's prediction. This'll probably go the way of Neoschools or petpet levels.
