I need some weapon advice to beat Magnus the Torch.
I am only at level 1 yet with my weapons and my hps are only 75.
My current equipment is:
Leaf Shield
Greater Healing Scroll
Golden Compass
Stone Club
Winged Wand of Wonder
Cloudy Wand of Storms
Blade of Supernova
Frozen Wand of Crystals
1. How much money do you have to spend?
2. What are your other stats? (strength, defence etc)
3. Do you want a set just to defeat Magnus the Torch or a longterm set?
I'm really looking for a long term set.. i've been trying to train as much as possible to get my stats up. They are: Health : 74 / 74

Strength : (75)
Defence : (52)
Move : (52)
Intelligence :(208)
As I stated tho, I am still a level 1 and don't know what it takes to get past that either... I love to battle tho, so I am willing to spend the points to do so. I have about 13 mil at the moment. (not that I want to spend it all Wink ) LOL
You have some really expensive weapons in your set.

However, none of them defends against his fire attacks, which make the BULK of his attacks anyway!

You can definitely afford these. Why didn't you use them?:

- 2 Scarab Ring
- Downsize!
- Snowglobe Staff
- 2 Shooting Star Muffins

There are two approaches:

1) Use Downsize! and one Scarab Ring on your first turn, withdrawing and trying again, till he use his Stone Muffin on his first turn. Then it's all about dual Scarab Rings.

2) Use Downsize! and Snowglobe Staff, till it freezes. Then blast him away with the two muffins.

EDIT: Just saw your reply. I suspect that you lab your pet. If you are, stop labbing and train your pet the proper way. It will do alot more than getting better weapons.

Also, Winged Wand of Wonder and Rod of Supernova are blah. Sell those two, stretch your budget by 1 million or so and you can afford a 100% freezer like H4000 Helmet and a bomb like Honey Potion. You should have no trouble with your next few 1-player and DoN opponents after that.
Thanks, I have those weapons already. The reason that I didn't use them already is because I am weapon illiterate Toungue LOL No kidding, just learning what the weapons are and what they do and what place they should take in a battle. Thanks for the info!!
Well, then you have come to the right place. Welcome to the IDB forums!

You really should get a Patched Magic Hat to alternate with Leaf Shield when doing 1-player battles. When it comes to Magnus, you should probably use Patched Magic Hat.

A Purple Sticky Hand will serve you well as a stealer, cheap and effective. You should probably only use this when you fight opponents with good weapons to steal.

There's a lot you can do with 13 million Neopoints. Since you don't want to use it all, I'll try to keep your spendings at about 10 million. The first would probably be getting a 100% freezer like Freezing Potion. It'd cost about 6.5 million, but due to the battle plot inflation, you should probably wait until after the plot to purchase weapons for a cheaper price. With 3.5 million left, I'd probably switch all your dual-duties to offensive weapons. You'd probably need a bomb, so a nice ~800K Honey Potion after the plot would be nice. That leaves you with 2.7 million to spend on the weapons. If I were you, I'd just get dual Scuzzys Comb if you do 1-player battles. Then you can spend the rest on training. Your new set:

Purple Sticky Hand
Downsize!
Leaf Shield OR Patched Magic Hat
Greater Healing Scroll
Freezing Potion
Honey Potion
Scuzzys Comb
Scuzzys Comb
This match was a draw!
Neither pet has won the fight! GRRRRRR Sad
OK, I have already for my new set.... downsize, leaf shield, greater healing scroll, freezing potion so that leaves patched magic hat, honey potion & scuzzys comb. 2 scuzzys combs or just one? That flaming jerk still was a draw!
Two Scuzzys Comb is good, if you are looking at 1-player as a long term thing, and have minimal to no intensions to fight 2-player at all. They're probably the cheapest 10-iconers out there, though they are probably inflated right now cos of the current plot going on.
