Full Version: Can someone briefly explain the previous war?

I was looking at a weapon and it said something like "Cost 3050 Maraquan War points" or something like that...
I was away during that war (actually haven't been fully present since the Meridell one) and I was wondering how the system was set up?
I went to the 1player section and looked at the war opponents and it says like "Worth 4 Points" or a similar number and generally, it seems like the harder opponent gives more points.
How were these points tallied?
If you killed that 1 point thing 2000 times, would you get 2000 points? Was there a limit?
I saw that it said they didn't gain HP for each win.. does that mean they never got stronger, or is the information just missing?

At the end of the war, did you like trade your points in for a weapon or did they just send out prizes to people with a specific range of points like in previous competitions?

I also noticed that some of the opponents were a lot stronger but were worth less points. Was there a specific reason for this?
And, if an opponent had a 1-use weapon (like a healer or bomb), could they use it multiple times (like before) or has TNT changed it to only allow 1p to use them once?

Thanks Smile
I'm not sure if I can answer all your questions but I do believe you are inquiring about the maraquan war which included rankings. There were 3 levels, which pets were split into depending on their hp and strength. These three sections are labelled 1 2 and 3 on the trophies.

Oppoennts showed up and stayed for teh duration of the war and I am almsot 100% sure that all opponents went up in hp after each win. Only rank 1 pets could fight lvl 1 oppoennts and so on. The more you killl, the more points you get, the limit is how good your weapons were. At the time, 1p bombs/single use could be used multiple times and so, the challengers could use single use or non multiple use items multiple times.

And at the end everybody got the same prize shop and had to buy prizes with their points.
Correction, everyone could fight every opponent. However you only got points for kills against the opponents in your corresponding rankings. Example:
A pet in bracket 1 would get 1 point per Maraquan Lancer slain.
A pet in bracket 2 would get 0 points per Maraquan Lancer slain.
A pet in bracket 3 would get 0 points per Maraquan Lancer slain.

A pet in bracket 1 would get 0 points per Maraquan Chef slain.
A pet in bracket 2 would get 1 points per Maraquan Chef slain.
A pet in bracket 3 would get 0 points per Maraquan Chef slain.

A pet in bracket 1 would get 0 points per Maraquan Foot Soldier slain.
A pet in bracket 2 would get 0 points per Maraquan Foot Soldier slain.
A pet in bracket 3 would get 1 points per Maraquan Foot Soldier slain.

Understand? Opponents were released one at a time and were there the entire duration of the war. There were 4 waves.
I can assure you, the opponents did indeed have an HP gain. And I would know, since I fought the Maraquan Lancer 60 times, and after awhile, it became quite difficult to beat it with my pet having all stats below 10.

The IDB must be missing that information. I can provide it if any staff members are interested in correcting it (assuming it hasn't been already).
There were 3 ranks
Rank 1 was HP + str up to 210 or so
Rank 2 was HP + str up to 1999
Rank 3 was the rest

you were also allowed to train past a rank and remain in that rank once the war started (there was someone who trained their rank 1 pet up to 200 str boost)

there were 4 waves + 1 boss wave per rank
points were 1,4,8,12
there was no limit on wins
the only challenger that might not gain hp every round is the Rank 1, wave 1 challegenger, who gained 1 hp 70% of the time (0.7 hp / win)

points were simply number of wins times the points (1,4,8,12), with some minor glitches (my score should be 2222, not 2223; one of my friend's score was WAY off and TNT never corrected it)

you then got to spend your points at the prize shop

and um that's about it, I think
Thanks for clearing that up a bit guys. Wish I had been able to participate, I probably could have gotten a lot of points.

Were the weapons you bought from the store activated right away? Did you know what you were buying before you bought it (like number of icons, etc)?
Was there change avaliable? (like if you have 2000 points could you buy two 1000 point thing?)

Is there any way that I can see a list of the items given away?
there was also 3 ranks for 'supporters' who got points by doing things other than fighting (i.e. spending NPs)
they got the petpet/book prizes
for the BD weapons, top prize was only awarded to a handful of people (I'd say no more than 20) while the 2nd prize was much more common (was around 1700 pts, as opposed to over 3k)
the items were activated right away, but it took a few hours to figure out what each weapon did
and yes, there is always ' change' available when you are spending your plot points
there is a list of the BD items on IDB here
