Well shattered, you can add another friend to that list. after mulling it over, I've quit. I'm going to cancel premium in a few minutes, and then I will freeze my account and become a hermit. This ain't no lie.
So without further ranting, I must say,
Goodbye everyone on IDB. Thanks for the memories.
GL on Neo
Dan R.
My PM had better get to you before you quit.
Seriously, anyone who's getting that upset over it needs to take a break for today, go play a different game or experience real life for once (anyone insulted by that can turn it back around to me, since I've probably literally spent the entire month on Neo), and just give this time to sink in. It's never smart making rash decisions like that.
Uhm, I really don't know yet if I like the new layout or not, but I don't think a graphics change deserves any good user quitting neo.
I guess it's just different than what we've been used to, but among the bad concepts (It's awfully difficult to find the stockmarket now, for example) are some really cool features as the Neofriend list.
Well, when I get used to the new system and i'd find some way to remove the new adds, I'll be happy again.
And once I've posted my opinnion, I return to Pokemon Diamond.
Good enough. you all have convinced me to stay. as much as I hate neos new look, I guess I'll get used to it. Even though It scared the he double hockey sticks outta me at first.
I wonder what TNT were thinking. I think this is the worse one they have pulled on us so far. The pages look horrible. They feel cluttered and unprofessional. I am a dialup user and this KILLS my computer for about 30-60 seconds everytime i load a page. I used to type, change pages on neo and then come back here and navitgate. i can't do that anymore. If I change pages on neo I have to wait about 30-60 seconds to do anything at all because my connection can't take it.
For a professional site they really did not concider anything at all. They have ignored all dialup users and everyone with small screen resolutions.
I am concidering letting go of neo for a while until i get a better connection because i honestly can't do anything. It took me 40 minutes to do 5 dailies. it gives dialup users a disadvantage when RSing and just using the website in general. Some people don't choose to be on dialup, they have too. Its dissapointing that these people can no longer have fun on the internet. Neo was one of those few sites where dialup didn't give you a big disadvantage. Now thats gone.
Neo needs to make a low res version for dialup users. of course RSers will use that too and TNT will realize that people prefer the lowres over their new crap. Honestly. I still don't understand what they were thinking.
The only good thing I can find is the thing that lets you see your neofriends at all times. Thats pretty cool. The rest is horrible and impractical.
IF they plan of keeping this we should have the option of old lookup or new lookup. that way everyone is happy.

::.Points to the thread title he used.:: It scared all of us when we first saw it. Glad to hear you're staying, or at least not leaving yet.
I very largely agree with Ben. I've been very annoyed since the Explore Map first forced us to use Flash instead of GIFs. After that was the Game Room (as if it doesn't take long enough for dialup users to load the games). (Not to mention ads somewhere along the way, but at least that was understandable.) Now it's the whole site. It is and was very possible to use a low-res version of things, or at least to include it, but I'm not sure the options in our Preferences actually makes a difference anymore.
"Okay, so the Meepit from yesterday was just a diversion tactic. Truth is, as you might have already gathered by the new surroundings, Neopets has gotten a HUGE facelift and we didn't want to let the Kadoatie out of the bag too early.

"
Does anyone get WHY TNT didn't want people knowing about it before hand? It would have averted alot of chaos, and maybe allowed them to get some good pre-change-feedback.
On the contrary, the chaos might have started sooner.
Though it does seem odd that they wanted to "surprise" us with something that wasn't a plot.

I 100% agree. Even with graphics accelerator for my dial-up connection, the page load times are still horrid. I'm managing, somehow... but something really needs to be done about it.
I'm still in shock, but I'll get used to it. I don't have the dial-up issue to deal with anymore, thankfully, but I sympathize for those of you who do.
PS I don't plan to convert my Darigan Eyrie, and I discovered that I had to customize and save the changes to have my lab pet properly display his new color after the lab changed it today.
<shrug> - another change though it looks like the main real change is that they are widening the pages to take advantage of the newer displays with wider and flatter resolutions. Wider pages means more content which gives the cluttered look. More curious is the hints of 'deluxe paint brush sets'. That going to push down or up the prices of current paintbrushes, I wonder?
