i haven't played in a long, LONG time. so i have pretty much 1 million to spend, i'd rather ask for advice rather than go blindly. I'm probably going to play mostly 1 player, so, yeah. my pet's stats:

Species : Yurble
Agility : 20 (mach 4)
Attack Strength : 60 (AWESOME (60))
Defence Strength : 31 (GREAT (31))
Current hp: 60 / 60
Level : 30

equipment:
Greater Healing Scroll
Purple Sticky Hand
Scarab Ring
Illusens Earth Potion
Downsize!
Scroll of Dark Nova
Blood Grub

i'll sell any of these and i'm not even sure if this was supposed to be my set before i quit so yeah. thanks for spending the time if you want to help. Daydream
1. Sell the blood grub It's not worth it.
2. Ditch the Illusens Earth Potion
3 get dual Ice Clubs, or maybe Dual Scuzzys Combs.
4 TRAINTRAINTRAINTRAINTRAINTRAINTRAINTRAINTRAINTRAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
^I second Obiwan.

In another Boost, Scarab Ring will be past its usefulness. Scroll of Dark Nova (while a cool weapon) is out-classed by the nine and ten-iconers.

Your options are in the nine and ten-iconer range: Scuzzys Comb is the cheapest ten-iconer and runs about 250K. Going dual with it would be my main recommendation, with two Essence of Esophagor as back-up weapons for Opponents able to block the Physical and/or Light of the Combs, but not able to hit the Water or Earth of the Essences.

Possibly a more important question: are you just having fun in One Player, or are you specifically hitting the DoNs (and a war, if we see one)? If you're just doing DoNs, you don't really need to be sitting on a set, since those each have their own basic strategy that tend to be independent of your natural set (relying on Muffins and Terror Stone/Scroll of Freezing). If you're just worrying about DoNs, you can leave most of your money freed up for training, which is probably the most crucial requirement for One Player victory.
"Greater Healing Scroll
Purple Sticky Hand
Scarab Ring
Illusens Earth Potion
Downsize!
Scroll of Dark Nova
Blood Grub"

We can use only a few items here. With a mil you can get a decent set. Sell Earth Potion- too weak nowadays. Sell Scroll of Dark Nova- good icons but you can get much better weapons with your budget. Blood grub is outclassed, cheaper multi-use weapons with better icons. Scarab ring is not utilised by your defense- ditch it (i don't expect you to train defense for one-player, especially seeing as you don't play often/ are likely to reach ghostkershield range- if you are, train defense, otherwise dont waste the np)

So your set:
-Downsize! (FREE)
Keep, its always useful for delaying battle/weakening bomb attacks
-Greater Healing Scroll (FREE)
Cheap, Effective.
-Purple Sticky Hand (FREE)
Many 1-p opponents have decent steal-able things
-Scuzzy's Comb (~220k)
First Weapon, semi-decent icons cheapest 10-iconer awesome for single
-Scuzzy's Comb
Double the power
-Essence of Esophagor
For when scuzzys is getting blocked, not many 9/10 iconers without light/physical
-Snowglobe Staff
Use it to freeze 1-p opponents. Withdraw as often as you like for either *A* freeze or a first-turn freeze
-Reflector/Muffin or Biscuit (look at 1-p opponent guides for a good one for the particular battle)

Rest of your cash, half your budget, goes into training. If you don't have lab, downgrade a scuzzy's comb into something else and get it- it will pay for itself in training money (unless you want your pet a yurble/colour). Strength/HP- keep hp a little higher than strength.

i think what i'm going to do is go after DoN's occasionally, but mostly just for fun. since i don't play much i figured i'd just blow all my money on the bd. so i might play 2-player occasionally but i'm not going to spend the effort finding and buying a bunch of new weapons every time i face a new challenger.

thanks rylix, that's really helpful. i actually bought the lab map for my friend who lost his account so that was a waste. Dontkown

let's see…if i get scuzzy's comb, that's 240k-ish, the essence thing, 105k. lab map will be what, 600k? so i guess i'll downgrade the second scuzzys, i'm thinking something cheap - ice club? that's 9 icons for 55k (holy crap that's amazing). leaves me with ~350k left, train with it?

hehe train/save for the lab map, yes.

you can downgrade the first scuzzys too so your closer to the map too. Just the 1 icon difference Smile

you can either contact one of the new raters, they should have extremely good advice.

I am always available at NCW or on neo for advice, free and cheap.. and not good enough to be a rater here.
lol, i figured in the lab as 600k out of my budget. so i meant i have 350k left over after buying everything including the lab.
i have just one more question tho, what should i pay for the lab map? i'm definitely going to get it ASAP but i don't want to get ripped off
Go with the dual-Essence of Esophagor, then. You don't want icon variety in One Player, and arguably not in Two Player. The not-so-common Leaf Shield will crush the Essence, which is something to keep in mind, though. Stone Club and Ice Club generally run their own share of getting knocked down to some extent or another, too, just not so directly. Golden Compass is something to look at from the Two Player side of things, as it costs 100K right now (plenty go for buyable during a day, including any that I restock. Getting them off the TP shouldn't run more than 110K).

Don't get the Lab. Two things are going to happen if you do: one, you'll get lazy and continue Labbing indefinitely and screw up your stats (ah, the wonders of laziness). Two, at your current training range the Lab won't pay itself off for quite a while. You're running less than 10K a stat, and it will take upwards of 70 beneficial stat points to pay itself off. In the past two and a half months, I've gained 40 HP, and 16 Strength. From a completely lazy standpoint, not caring about Level (Defense is less useful in One Player than Two, up until around the 550 Strength Boost), and under the assumption that my Lab results are an accurate expectation (which is very doubtful), it will take over three months for the Lab to pay itself off for you. If you value Level, Defense, and/or Speed, the time it takes to pay itself off is likely to increase. (There's currently a semi-debate going on about the Lab elsewhere in the forums.)

Scuzzys Comb are down to 220K? They were 250Kish a month ago.

The problem with the One Player versus Two Player is that it completely changes how you should run your set (and how much it's going to cost, with a notable increase for Two Player use). If you're just playing against your friends rather than doing Quickfights, a One Player set may or may do fine. If you're doing Quickfights, a One Player set is likely to be obliterated. Defense is also a prominent aspect in Two Player, whereas it takes quite a while to become important in One.

... while everyone here charges 77 Bacon Omelettes for the first advice and 33 Dung Jellies for every consecutive follow ups! XD

Some people could be a little more disciplined than that you know, lol... Toungue

I have nothing to add to the advice given by the others. Suffice to say though that it doesn't seem that you are planning to train your pet's defence? If that is the case, then labbing is not such a bad idea. You will only be concentrating on trying to maintain your pet's level, whereas defence will be a lesser concern. The high hitpoints and fairly good strength and possibly agility pay off might appeal to you. You do have to concern yourself with a  good healer at a certain stage, though. The Greater Healing Scroll is useless beyond 150 HPs and 125 boosts.
