Post a good bd set for this pet including Eca, I'm looking to buy good shields and Dual duties

Include ECA in the costs, yes? Even though your budget doesn't allow Ghostkershield, it cripples people when they're running against someone with a Defense Boost advantage.

I'm not sure on the actual going prices of things, so I grabbed TP values. The only real question is whether you want Mask of Coltzan or not, since it discludes Dusty Magic Broom from possibility within your cost range (which I would would recommend over Air Faerie Crown). Ethereal Sword is a possible substitute (running Air for its attack)

I'm not entirely certain what range of weapons are being seen, but the Earth defense of Mask of Coltzan would probably be rare to use (Bow of Destiny being the only thing that comes to mind, which will get five Air through anyway, and quite probably its three Fire). On the other hand, I'm not sure the Dark defense in Golden Compass would be enough to spread over a possible ten Dark icons (certainly not if you're fighting 85 Strength Boosters).

Dusty Magic Broom would be the more powerful way of dealing with Light (also getting off the attack), but falls just beyond your budget if you're getting it and Mask of Coltzan. Ethereal Sword isn't going to be blocked except by Burrow, but would be dealing less icons. Thief Dagger would be a poorer substitute, though a consideration (more situationally designed to deal with Scuzzys and Staff of Righteous Fury).

The Shields would be primarily aimed to deal with certain weapons (though if you're using ECA every turn, you'd at least need a species ability to back up a shield for offense). I listed it mostly because it came to mind, and depending on your Freezer preference there might be space left open.

Leaf Shield would deal with Essence of Esophagor and Pike Pike (though it would need to be combined with a Light-blocker to hit Pike Pike).

Scarab Ring is all a matter of if you see any Fire running around. It might not be worth considering at all

Earthen Scorchstone is listed because there's no other way to deal with Air.

Downsize! could be dropped or swapped for something, as its usefulness is debatable in a defensive set.


All in all, mix and match as you please. I'm not good with defense-based recommendations, but I'm fairly certain I listed all the things worth considering given your budget.

Dual-duties are no good for you if your stats are like that. Train strength up to match defence and keep them steady. I don't see why you want an Everlasting Crystal Apple. That's going to take up your healer spot already, which you can have Greater Healing Scroll to heal 20 more health. I really would not recommend it.

"Good shields and dual duties." If you have shields, I don't see the point in dual-duties, unless you don't have attackers. If you have dual-duties, I don't see the point in shields. With 8.5 million, there are a lot of things you can do.

I'm going to go back to the combination of Mask of Coltzan and Air Faerie Crown. It gives you a nice attack range of and also which is already 3 types of defensive icons taken care of. That would already be 5.6 million gone, leave you with 2.9 million for the rest of the set.

A Greater Healing Scroll as I have said, is good for you right now. Get one. Downsize! is also a nice item to add to your set. Purple Sticky Hand is a great stealer which I just can't do without. I'd go for a Honey Potion as a bomb in your set as well, leaving you with appproximately 2 million. You can probably fish for a Bzzt Blaster to add more power to your attack. That's already going to eat up your budget. Just train and save up afterwards.

Shattered's right. This is a classic training method that utilises defence boost more than attack, and dual duties and shields IS the way to maximise it's potential. the Everlasting Crystal Weapon although it takes up a healing spot, is a multi-use healer, and can seriously wreck havoc against pet with 55 strength boost.

I personally wouldn't fight pets with that kind of stats. (No offense to you, Dark_Flame)

Ah yes, I didn't realise that the Everlasting Crystal Apple was a multiple use weapon. To tell the truth, I would never fight an opponent with defence higher than attack either.

I fight them occasionally >.>

Ghostkershield and Tower Shield are really scary. Although i've learnt to use fire/water vs Ghostkershield and overloaded light/earth vs the Tower Shield. Sophies Magic Hat is also very damaging and quite cheap in comparison to its upgrades.

However, if you want ECA your not using a pure shield often- Mask of Coltzan is very good, then you could use a Air Faerie Crown or Golden Compass or even Hobans Hat (this is if you get water used against you, something rare) for when the offense is not getting through.

Your boost advantage will eliminate all weapons that do less than 3-4 of an icon type. Dont use it every turn, your opponent will learn...

Your other pure shield, for when you need a little more concentrated defense

Main Offensive weapon, used with ECA
-Air Faerie Crown
Secondary Offensive weapon
-Scarab Ring
Cheap, occasionally useful
-Purple Sticky Hand
Cheap, effective stealing. Youd be surprised what some keep in their first slots, and you can prolong battles anyway
-Essence of Esophagor
If your getting blocked, you need something to hit with and this is cheap with different icons, to fill your last slot

My best effort. Little over-budget but you can save Consider switching Essence of Esophagor for a Black Frost Cannon. No 100% freeze because you didnt post a species and with ECA budget cant afford one.

I am going to disagree with the Black Frost Cannon yet again.  Waste of slots if your opponent can defend each your weapons quite well.  I'd go for a back up weapon, since you really can lose the battle before being able to freeze successfully.

Yes, I would disagree with the Black Frost Cannon too if you have Wilt's luck.

Then again, you can give it a try to see if you like what it does, and if you don't, you can sell it back thereafter.

I personally love mine, but i gave an alternative cos many dont.

I had a borrowed the Black Frost Cannon before purchasing my own Rainbow Frost Cannon. I am not a HUGE fan of it, but it served its purpose well for me.

Like I said, though, it is seriously up to you Dark_Flame to give it a try for yourself. We are offering only our own experience and opinions, which is never entirely absolute...
