Given that I'm running Greasemonkey and I can see myself when I'm the only person on my part of the SW, it must not be blocking us now.
MUHAHAHAHAHA Big Grin

I bought 16 JJP for an average price of 29k (25k - 30k each) several days ago as the actual stats were confirmed. After that , there were no JJP under 30k Toungue

Profit calculating : (80k (Current SSW price) - 29k) * 16 = 816k Big Grin
I'll at least wait for it to become UB .

SSP and JJP will inflate in the short run, but will deflate in the long run, as despite how good they are, they DO RS... and are only r89, at that. I woupld compare this price spike to how Burnt scarab cookies were selling for 3K after the tomos avie was figured out, as opponsed to [idb]Ring of the Lost[/db] more than doubling in price in it's first month of existance... There is a renewable supply, so the demand will eventually die down, and with it, the price, as the supply will still be replenished at a constant rate. I'd watch the price of that stock-pile Smile

How long do you figure it will take for said short inflation to stop and then deflation to catch up and put them back to the price they are at now?

I know you're not asking me but ...
There's no way they will go back down to 30k ... except a downgrade which is unlikely to happen after two weeks or so. Tarla won't mass release them because if JJP is down to 1k , the 6-10 iconers will crash Big Grin
I was more referring to SSP. I should have been specific. JJP was unreal when it was 20k. It should be about buyable IMO. SSP's were about 100k, then they jumped up a bit. I just wondering when Obi figured they would hit 100k again. (I'm looking to buy one incase you didn't figure that out, lolz Smile)

When the the Supply outwieghs the demand (i.e. when enough people have them there aren't several times more people looking to buy than sell.) I'm not quite sure when that'll be, because I'm not sure how many people are looking to buy, but I'd say most likey within a couple months... that'll be enough time for a fair number to get out there into the neopain economy.

I don't think TNT directly controls what Tarla releases. Items with rarities in the nineties have already been Tarla'd, which bothers me to no end. Also remember that any rarity 89 or lower can be given out by the (less-effective) Wishing Well. Am I the only one seeing a situation that needs to be reversed?

Good job hoarding them, though. For another example of the economics on them, Ice Club is an r89 while Jittery Jipple Potion is r88. Now, what the exact difference in rarity actually means in terms of release over time, who knows, but let's assume for the sake of example that they're the same.

Ice Clubs (and Stone Clubs) were mass-hoarded. Part of this, I speculate, was on the part of sellers to prevent deflation. Part of it was because they're nine-iconers that helped to completely break the damaged system, and the hoarders possibly hoped to outlast demand (which they've done a fair job of, considering they've at least kept the price up). (As a note: Golden Compass is r85, meaning that it theoretically will eventually drop beneath the price of Ice Club, making it the most price-broken item since Scarab Ring. And right now, they're already frequently touching buyable.)

Now, the difference here is that we don't know how effective Jittery Jipple Potion is in One Player. Or at least I don't. If Intelligence increases along with other stats, then TNT has officially broken an already broken economy, in which case I need to give them props for screwing up even more than they already have.

Ahem. Point being, if Jittery Jipple Potions (which have a lower rarity than Ice Clubs) don't remain hoarded, the price will drop lower than Ice Club's. That said, if Neopian economics play out the same, Jittery Jipple Potion should eventually settle around (or under) 60K. (And given that I've been restocking Golden Compasses, which have an even lower rarity, it scares me to think of how low their price is going to drop.) TNT has set the stage to finish "replacing" the six-iconers with equivalently priced nine-iconers.

*lol*, I'm pretty sure TNT DOES have dirrect control over which items are Tarla'd... to many of the items seem to be extremely unlikely coincidences.
If I'm wrong, however, we have alot more to worry about in terms of deflation than punny Jittery Jipple Potions and Steaming Skeem Potions. the r101 One Hundred Dubloon Coin has been Tarla'd. Twice. If I'm wrong, Super Attack Pea, Illusens Staff, Wand of the Dark Faerie, and Moehog Skull are not safe. I'm not even gonna mention that basically all the prizes for Wars/ plots/ events/ games/ whatever TNT's calling them this week before the LDP are r101. So SSP and JJP are the LEAST of our worries if TNT doesn't control which items are tarla'd.
obiwanpi Wrote:If I'm wrong, Super Attack Pea, Illusens Staff, Wand of the Dark Faerie, and Moehog Skull are not safe.

The likelihood of those happening would be very slim. The latter three are exclusive prizes for the different quest and games in Neo, while the SuAP is a cove weapon, which means that the supplies are limited (it might be technically retired, even). So far the items that are Tarlar'd (at least the ones I knew about) are still restocking in the various shops or being given out randomly through random events and dailies.

Of course, a slim chance doesn't mean no chance...
Sorry, I forgot to clarify that I believe Tarla is limited to r98 and lower items (whereas she should be limited to r89 and lower to match the Wishing Well, or even lower than that since she's destroying the economy on several items).

Rather, I don't think TNT's bothering to pay attention to what she's giving out. I could be wrong on the r98 and lower, but I'm pretty sure there was a piece of r94 or so furny that was given out at one point (and prior to being Tarla'd, it was around 90K or so: I may be wrong about that former price).

Edit: Pirate Compass Table, r96.
