Been stuck at this level of DoN for some time, any tips?
I've been using SStaff on first turn, and withdrawing until they freeze, but whatever i try they always lose. I managed to draw once, but that was fluke.
I have been using drain life first turn, but I'm losing half my HP before I start. Help?
Stats
Level : 40
Health : 136
Strength : AMAZING (82)
Defence : GREAT (21)
Set
Golden Compass
Essence of Esophagor
Greater Healing Scroll
Snowglobe Staff
Downsize!
Illusens Earth Potion
Scarab Ring
+ 10 Shooting star muffins
And I'm trying desperately to get my level up so i can train to the 85 boost, but it's going to be a long time the state of my stats.
Thanks!
Using drain life is a bad idea because you won't get much
Without the 85 boost it's very tough to beat him .
After you get the 85 boost :
Neglecting stances ,
1st round : Diamond Dust (Preferred) 16.7% freezing chance / fiery gaze 12.5% freezing chance + Downsize! + Golden Compass until he is frozen , of course. ( 23 damage dealt )
2nd round : Golden Compass + Essence of Esophagor + Fierce attack (63 damage dealt)
3rd round : Snowglobe Staff + Golden Compass + Sink until he is frozen ( 23 damage dealt)
4th round : Dual Shooting Star Muffin + fierce attack (105 damage dealt)
Withdraw if he freezes you at any point.
He should be dead at this point
If you distaste withdrawing , seek other advices

First, Drain life isn't too helpful until you get up to the opponents that have alot of hp. I'd recomend you train some, but... there's a way to do it without training: (if he freezes you, restart)
Turn 1: EoE+GoC+ Burrow
Turn 2: EoE+GoC+ Firery Gaze/ Diamond Dust. (restart if you fail to freeze, or have under 45 hp after this turn.)
Turn 3: Shooting star Muffin x2+ Fierce.
Turn 4: EoE+GoC+ Sink.
Train while you still can. You've gotta look to the future. Just because you can beat the Meerca Henchmen without the 85 boosts as obiwanpi says, doesn't mean you can defeat the future opponents without it. I guarantee you that you will need more than the 85 boosts on the next missions. And when I say train, I mean both strength and defence.
You definitely need to improve your weapons. Mind telling me how much money you have?
I know I know.... I labbed unconsciously for too long. But I'm training so much now, I'm ttroving and using the training school until my level is high enough to train my strength to 85 and then equal it with my defence.
Money wise i have about 2 mil pure and 2 mil in stocks. I was going to replace my entire set once I'd got my level sorted so I could budget around training easier. I have a "shopping list" somewhere, but it might be a bit outdated now.
And regarding drain life, I'm not sure why I always use it, I must have read something that stuck hard.
And what % freeze does diamond dust do? fiery gaze is about 20% I believe.
Thanks for all the help guys =)
Has anyone even been counting damage for the two suggested strategies so far? I don't think either of those are going to work. Cutejohn is suggesting using two abilities during the same turn (which I assume was a mistake), and also requires a 5% shot with a double-freeze. And I'm pretty sure Obiwan's isn't going to land enough total damage, or if it does, the last-turn Sink won't be strong enough to guarantee survival.
As a note: given that the Meerca Henchmen only block Physical, it doesn't matter whether you use Essence or Compass.
Turn 1: Downsize! + Essence of Esophagor + Fiery Gaze (18 damage)
Turn 2: Shooting Star Muffin + Shooting Star Muffin + Fierce (84 damage, 102 total)
Turn 3: Essence of Esophagor + Terror Stone + Burrow (18 damage, 120 damage total)
Turn 4: Shooting Star Muffin + Shooting Star Muffin + Fierce (84 damage, 204 damage total, Henchmen are dead)
If you get frozen turn one, withdraw. If you get frozen turn four, hope that your Terror Stone is still around. Fiery Gaze and Diamond Dust are both somewhere close to 20% Freeze rate.
Edit: I just ran the figures on Obiwan's, and while they do add up, you run a high risk of dying along the way.
Terror stone?! Could I not switch turn 2 and 3 and then withdraw if my sstaff doesn't freeze? I don't think I want to risk the 85k...
You'd only be landing 25 damage on turn two in that case (Essence + Staff + Fierce), resulting in 127 (possibly more, depending on the Henchmen's stance on turn one) damage by the end of turn three. On top of a less than 5% chance of success (depending on how likely the Henchmen are to freeze you on turn one), you'd still have 48 damage to deal on turn four. Personally I wouldn't bet on a 5% chance (actually, I think I did try that route in my initial bout with the Henchmen, and it never landed success for me). Even with perfect odds, you'll be going through more than twenty attempts, more than likely, and with no guarantee of victory.
You could land 42 damage on turn four with Shooting Star Muffin + Thick Smoke Bomb + Fierce, which would leave six damage to deal, which would be covered if their stance was ever above Cautious. That would still leave your Burrow unused for a possible fifth turn, assuming you didn't get frozen and didn't have bad luck killing them.
Good luck, whichever route you take.
I've changed my suggestion a bit. It should work if double freeze pops in.
Henchmen can do 112 damage each turn so be careful. Don't use EoE instead of compass because compass helps you reduce a bit of dark attack.
