I was thinking of changing my Mutant Draik into a Darigan Zafara in order to use the Kaylas Hat. I'm wondering what will happen to the Full Draik Armour I currently have equipped to her?? Does anybody know?
First question: Why do you need to change species to use Kayla's Hat? It should work for everybody.
That being said, the weapon will stay equipped. If you try to use it in battle, it just won't work.

Either it's Zafara-only, or it's listed as being Zafara-only and someone needs to fix its listing.
That said, Mutant Draik looks better than Darigan Zafara (mind, I'd go for a Darigan Draik if I wasn't labbing). Personally, though, I'm inclined to argue that Kayla's Hat isn't that great of a weapon, unless its price has dropped drastically in the past week.
I'm going to agree with the hat not being so great.
Im not sure of your pets stats, but there is so much light defense in the intermediate ranges basically until you reach SoS/PCC Levels. The dark defense is nice, and the fact that it goes 100% through burrow is nice, But I would rather have MoC for a a bit more that goes through a GSheild and block more dark + earth than the hat. (plus it seems like a shame to more a draik to a zafara

Well for one I bought it years ago for 1 million. I own the biggest gallery in Neopia so I'm not worried about money. The main thing I noticed was that there is NO other weapon does 10 icons of Light damage that is obtainable. I'm wanting to use that + one of my other weapons to get at least 10 icons past both sink and burrow on each move. Do you get it now?

Wouldn't you be able to run stronger weapons than a ten-iconer that has a half dozen weapons that knock half its attack? It makes far more sense to run four weapons (two to deal with Burrow, two to deal with Sink) and land twenty icons through either rather than use a combo that knocks ten against each.
Granted, if you want ten against each, Ramtors can just as easily cover your damage through Burrow as the Hat can, running roughly the same chance of getting blocked along the way.
Yes that would make sense... However I refuse to sell my expensive gallery items for better weapons. I'll "work" my way up from here without ever having to part with them. But, I did just buy a GStaff which drained every bit of cash I had. So I know it will be a little while (6 months?) before I can get the weapons back I traded for it. I still want to battle well in that 6 Months and would be willing to do a species change to get it done.
Neocap, why don't you post your set so you can get better advice? Kaylas Hat is a good weapon if you already have it, but I'm sure there are much better ways you could spend your money without having to transform your pet.
Also, I still don't think the Hat is a species weapon. Have you actually tried using it and it didn't work?
Wow... That's amazing. I remember when I first bought it you couldn't equip it to anything but a Zafara... It's OFFICIALLY not a species weapon. Thanks guys
Ok I just equipped it to my pet... It will equip but it doesn't actually do anything in the battle. So it IS a species weapon for sure. Odd it can be equipped but not used.
