Scarblade_ Wrote:I'm looking to buy some good 7-9 icon weapons with a budget of about 150k. Any suggestions?
I mainly battle 1-player. I'm actually only interested in the BD for profit. I'm upgrading my set in hopes that the next plot will be a war.
Okay then:
Battle Ready Pencil Box is the best value in 7-icon weapons, currently at 4k on the wiz.
17-Pound Trout is another bargain at 6.65-8.65 icons for under 10k right now. The icon types are junk in 2player, as they are completely stopped by leaf shield, but you shouldn't care about that in 1p.
Since I don't know of any testing that has determined the averages yet,
Earth Faerie Slingshot Enchanted Wooden Bow and
Earth Faerie Bow may or may not be upgrades from the trout.
Gold Handled Katana is 8 constant icons, currently as low as 33k on the wiz.
Tyrannian Lupe Tooth is 8.66 constant icons for about 54k on the wiz.
At up-to the moment prices, it looks like the 9-constant icon
Ice Club is 64k. At only a 10k price difference, the extra third of an icon may be worth it, but sometimes there 's been as much as a 30k difference between those two weapons, which probably isnt worth it for a fraction of an icon at your Str boost.
Now, as to the rest of your set:
Blue Scorchstone: Fine for your weaker pet. Sadly, your lab pet outgrew this a year ago. Even more sadly, there's no good answer for an upgrade. Get a
Greater Healing Scroll and if you are really banking on a war, get the cheapest combo of species healer + morphing (or transmog) potion you can:
Kacheek Life Potion,
Elephante Unguent,
Gelert Healing Remedy,
Blumaroo Life Potion, etc. Doing this will likely cost you a couple 100k, but upgrading to a non-species healer would run many millions.
Scarab Ring : This is a great weapon, but neither of your pets really has enough defense for it to be that strong in 1player. Put it in your SDB until you get more defense or TNT releases a war opponent that it's strong against.
Battle Ready Pencil Box: My first 7 icon weapon cost me 500k, I can't argue with one that sells for 4k. Keep this and get another, unless you are upgrading past 7 icons weapons
Leaf Shield: Like the scarab ring, a great weapon, and like thew scarab ring, your pets don't have enough defense for this to be strong in 1player. Put it in your SDB and get a
Downsize! (about 5k np) to fill this slot in your lineup.
Illusens Earth Potion: This is on the verge of being obsolete. It's once per battle and only averages 8 icons. Only the bargain price keeps this from being a complete waste. If you upgrade your multiuse weapons to 8 or more icons, sell this.
Mud Mixture: Cheap, but your lab pet has likely outgrown these. Consider
Snow Mudball (about 700 np),
Chocolate Chip Battle Biscuit (about 1k np,
Shooting Star Muffin (about 3k np) or
Ultranova (check wiz) as alternative single-use bombs.
Fighting Folder: I like this weapon a lot, but your lab pet would be better served using something with a better average damage than by the multihealing.
Bucket o Water: Oh good gracious no, throw this overboard. It's only 6 icons, and nothing special. If you must have those icon types, go with
Tooth of Terask (about 15k) for the added dark defense, but since you only battle 1p and neither of your pets has much defense, you're probably better with stronger offensive weapons.
You should also get a freezer. As you seem to be on a tight budget, your best option is likely the highly frustrating
Snowglobe Staff, (about 20k np) which is frequently useless, but can let you beat difficult opponents with a withdraw-and-repeat strategy until you get the lucky first or second turn freeze.
Additionally, you should get a
Purple Sticky Hand they are under 2k np and they can sometimes steal very powerful weapons in 1player (for example you can steal a Thyoras Tear from the Black Pteri). Just be aware that stealing has frequently been disabled during wars so it may or may not help in any future war. Nevertheless, this is cheap enough that no battler should be without one in their SDB.
