Cranberry,

I was wondering what upgrades you would recommend. I have 1 milion NP to spend plus selling old weapons. Also, I could save up more NP if necessary. I am up to the Mootix Warrior in DON. I would like to finish it and also be ready for the next war. Here are my stats:

Species : Wocky
Colour : Grey
Gender : Female
Age : 758 days
Level : 86

Health : 210 / 207
Mood : delighted!
Hunger : satiated
Strength : ULTIMATE (201)
Defence : ULTIMATE (192)
Move : EXCELLENT (4
Intelligence : ULTIMATE GENIUS (274)

Weapons:

Downsize!
Greater Healing Scroll
Stone Club
Honey Potion
Golden Compass
Ornate Fighting Fan
Snowglobe Staff
Thick Smoke Bomb

Thanks
You should be able to beat Mootix Warrior now, actually, if you use Shovel Plus and Turbo Flame Reflector. This strategy should work:

Round 1: Freezer+Shovel Plus+Burrow (withdraw and heal if you don't get the freeze)
Round 2: Honey Potion+Ornate Fighting Fan+berserk (that does at least 189 damage right there)
Round 3: Shovel Plus+Turbo Flame Reflector+Sink
Round 4: Golden Compass+Thick Smoke Bomb+berserk

He should be dead by (or before) then, but if not, you still have the Downsize! for defence. Try it out. I never bother stealing the ice dice because often they don't work, anyway, and he can only use one other weapon with them, hurting you less. Smile

As for your weapons, you've hit that plateau where you already have the best 9-iconers (for 1-player, anyway), and the next decent jump in power is more than you can afford. A 10-iconer like Scuzzys Comb could be an okay buy, but it's really not going to help you do much extra damage. I don't recommend the 11-icon blasters, especially now that they've risen so much in price. The next good upgrade is to the 13-icon Wand of Reality or Bow of Destiny, and those are around 3.5 mil each. Another weapon you could consider is Ring of the Lost, which is great against the 1-player opponents who deal dark icons, because no matter how high their strength boosts get, you will block all their dark while still dealing a decent amount of icons. In terms of pure attack power, though, it's not much of an upgrade, and a WoR/BoD would be better first.

Your major issues are with the healer and freezer, though. At 200 HP, the 50 HP heal from the greater healing scroll isn't all that, um, great. Wink I assume you don't want to change the grey wocky, so the Bag of Healing Dust is the cheapest alternative (sadly). A good healer helps more than you can imagine, though -- it's worth the NPs. As far as freezers go, if you don't mind withdrawing/healing, the staff is fine, but that could get very annoying in a war, and if you ever want to get into 2-player battling, it's pretty useless. Rainbow Frost Cannon and Black Frost Cannon are better, but of course nothing beats the 100% freeze from the H4000 Helmet (or Freezing Potion, which is now very close in price). That's most likely more NP than you meant when you said you could save up, though.

I guess the thing is, when you get to this stage, you have to decide whether you want to be a serious battler, or just a casual one. If it's the former, it's time to wave goodbye to your NPs, because they're all going to increasingly expensive training, 50% healers, 100% freezers, and multi-million NP weapons. Wink

Finally, I'm definitely not the only one who gives advice around here! I very well could have missed something, so I hope others will weigh in. Smile

Cranberry, The lab ray turned me grey. Actually I am now halloween. Is there a better healer than the bag of Healing dust?

As always thanks for the time and attention
If you're always labbing, not really. The only alternative is a species healer -- Kacheek Life Potion, Gelert Healing Remedy, Elephante Unguent, and so on. One interesting idea would be to see if you can find a Lucky Uni Charm, and then you could continue labbing and just use the very cheap Green Uni Morphing Potion to change your pet back to uni whenever the lab changed its species. The charm would probably be cheaper than the healing dust, but it does seem a lot harder to find.
There are a few alternatives Cran missed for healing:

Right now, I wouldn't think of seriously battling 2player at your HP without a Crisp Blue Tunic, which takes 100 hp from your opponent and gives them to you, for an effective 200 point swing (including 100 points of unblockable damage) Sadly the price has skyrocketed to significantly MORE than the Bag of Healing Dust, and there's also a tough Intelligence requirement that you're best off Scroll Potion-ing to meet.

If you only occasionally battle serious 2p, you can keep the greater healing scroll and use single -use full healers for your serious battles. Jade Elixir, Lucky Robots Foot Life Giver and Amulet of Life all provide full healing. While this may seem to be throwing money away, when you consider the costs of the non-species healers, it's really not. At the moment, Jade Elixir can be had for roughly what you could get in 3 days by not buying a Bag of Healing Dust and instead sticking the NP in the bank, so you can actually SAVE money this way if you battle on average less than twice a week. Of course, that's probably a bigger deal for me than it is for you, as the difference between a full heal and a 50% heal can be almost 400 hit points on my 300 boost lab pet

For periods when you expect to be battling a lot, (such as wars) there are the species healers Cran mentioned (remember to consider morphing costs more than healer costs if you're labbing) or the craptacular Ice Scorchstone which can be of some use if you are willing to repeat fights until it works right.
I didn't so much miss the CBT as assume he never did any 2-player battling (since he mentioned just DoN and wars), but yeah, I am a huge fan of the tunic. Smile

As someone who used one-use full healers for ages before I finally sucked it up and changed from lupe to gelert, I can't say I enjoyed replacing the damn things all the time. They are useful for 2-player events, though.

As for the ice scorchstone... ptui! I spit upon it! Let us never speak of it again! Wink

Cranberry,

I have just been made a Lupe. Is there any specific freezer or healers available that you would recommend

As always thanks for the input

I'm on vacation, but you managed to catch me on the one day I dropped in to IDB. Smile Lupes don't have any healers, but the Ancient Lupe Wand is a 100% freezer. It's breakable, so best used for important battles. I generally had good luck with them back when my pet was a lupe, though.

Thanks I am on it now !
