Love the site, been coming here for years now. Finally decided to join the forums and participate a bit.

Question/idea for you.

I realize the IDB raters and admins have a huge workload on their hands. I commend you for all that you do.

One thing I would like to see though is more accurate price values for the weapons. I know this has been brought up and discussed in other threads.
Consider this possibilty though:

What if there was a way users could input values for weapons that they ACTUALLY SOLD them for? Of course a level of honesty would have to be considered, but with all the intelligent and informed users here...we would immmediately know if someone was full of it or not. This idea is kinda based off the Ipricing idea, but without the automatic price retrieving and collecting. Users here would just have to manually input the values. They could then be averaged to give us the mean price.

An accurate value is very important to members who do not live and die by weapon trading. How many posts do you see "Price Check" and "Is this a good deal?"

Maybe have that information available on each items page and/or on one spreadsheet type page. Ordered by name/rarity/price/ etc.

Let us help you with some of the workload without actually having to be raters or admins.

Anyways..hope all of that made sense. Keep up the good work!
there's a thread where we submit weapon price updates if we find ones that don't match.

and with the new raters comming in, I think those will be updated faster.

I think there was a thread discussing prices in ideas/suggestions...in fact this thread may actually belong in that forum...

but on the note of pricing, one big problem is the % variability. The default is set at 25% which is huge and only admins/super powered people-ie high ranked people, meaning very few can change this %...so that's one reason why prices are all over the place and often incorrect/obsolete.
I realize how the system works now I guess the main points of my idea is...

"Let us help you with some of the workload without actually having to be raters or admins"

And with all users entering in values everyday, that 25% value could be adjusted down so the prices range would become more accurate.

The problem is that that would require the coding being adjusted (I'm not sure how many people currently have access to the core files, or if they're allowed to tinker with them), and if the coding could be adjusted, the Raters could just keep the thread for price adjustments and could keep it updated by having users report out-dated prices and the like through there.
Links on the Weapons page to the Shop Wizard and Trading Post is enough.

The only items updated prices would really be of any use to keep and maintain are those that are 20 million and above that aren't usually seen on the Post, such as the pea family and the like. Honestly the number of items that would need a price are so small it probably wouldn't be hard to do. I mean, there's plenty of LEVs and Jades and GSwords on the TP to have it as a reference for it's current going price.

PS: LEVs will dip below 30 million before too long. Grats to TNT for doing something worthwhile to the 100% healing market. In the past three weeks I've seen the lowest LEV go from 46 to 42.
About a month or so ago I decided to buy a RotL. It was about that time all the tourneys were about to start. Some prices were rising because of this.

Prices were all over the place, and I had no idea on what a good value was because I don't live and breathe weapon values.

Having a value on IDB of 3.75-6.25 doesn't help. A weapons value history would be helpful though.

Anyways...seems like I am beating a dead horse here. I'll move along. Just trying to throw out some ideas.

You are not beating a dead horse Wink All the suggestions we get are important and we do our best to do what we can about them. Right now we are a little busy with the rater apps but there are people working on weapon prices. Please realize that weapon prices are in constant motion.

Although I really like the idea of having a chart with the history of the prices, please concider that there are over 2000 weapons in our database. Writting up the history for all of them and keeping them updated would take more work then we can handle. Right now doing such a thing is not possible. Sorry

Why not contact ImproveNeo and get their script?
There were a lot of issues with Improveneo; TNT doesn't seem too fond of it.
