I been playing for over 5 years but I never really got into battling until my friend showed me how cool it is about 3 months ago. That's when I got into it and did some mad training and brought these weapons. I got a huge budget sitting at the bank collecting dust that I been saving for 5 years.
Thanks for your advice.
Do you plan on using the lab ray for training in the future? What's your pet's species. I'd hold off on doing anything until you think things through some more. What are your goals for your pet?
The reason I ask these questions is this is the ONE time you're likely to have a massive budget. What you DON'T want to do is blow it on two or three really good items, but miss the cornerstone of a great set if you're a long-term player.
The single most important slot in your battleset, if you're going to be a long-term player seeking to have an elite battlepet over time (in other words, one that you're going to train continually) is your HEALER. I don't know if you're in a position to get a full-healer, you didn't mention what your budget is, but if you are, and you're in this for the long-haul (and if you've been at Neopets for FIVE years, I'd guess that you are), that's the best LONG-TERM move you could make. The second most necessary item is a 100% freezer. These are also expensive, but depending on your species, there may be alternatives with a species freezer.
Another question - do you want your pet to STAY whatever species it is, or are you open to morphing it into a better battle species. Example - Acaras, cute enough, but no known battledome advantages or weapons.
The Ghostkershield is a fine item, and I like it better than the Tabard, but if you're only going to be working from a huge budget once, it simply isn't a priority if you're looking for LONG-TERM moves. If you're looking for short-term, it's a fine weapon, though again, I'm not sure it would be my first priority, though the answers to how much of a budget, and the other questions would dictate the appropriate response. In sum, don't rush out and spend until you internalize what your goals are, and it would be helpful if you provided more information.
The lack of knowledge of what your budget is making any sort of good suggestions a tad difficult. Also, the information about you playing in 1-player battles or 2-player battles is also quite important.
Whatever the case is, I do agree with VermontHermit that there are 2 types of weapons that you should invest in before you go into looking at upgrading anything else. Some might think a third weapon (a bomb) should be included, but that is totally subjective.

I wouldn't throw the
Spider on a String out just yet. Mono-icon weapons can be extremely powerful and effective, and at your level it's not TOO bad. Just that there are better and quite affordable alternatives to them (most of them being nine iconers). Even then, you might wanna keep it as a back up to supplement any other earth-iconed weapon you might get later, where you can simply overpower common earth blocking shields like
Leaf Shield.
oh sorry, currently my budget is 25mil. My pet is a Scorchio and I play both 1 and 2 player but mostly 1 player. With these weapons I can easily beat mission 8 of defender of neopia with some luck. The SoA, BoD, or WoR I can get in a few weeks/month because I'm almost done the evil level of neoquest 2. Nope, I never zapped my pet with the ray lab. I use it daily on another pet as an experiment.
But thanks a lot everyone one some of the recommended items.
Edit: Oh by the way, does the Purple Sticky Hand disappear after the battle?
Purple Sticky Hand will return to your inventory after the battle is over, and if it was successful in stealing, whatever it took from your opponent will return to their set as well.
You didn't mention whether you wish to stay a Scorchio or not.
The price of full healers as quoted on the Trading Post is well above your budget. If you can't get a full healer, the next step is either a Kacheek Life Potion (if you're willing to morph into a Kacheek), or a 50% species healer, or a Bag of Healing Dust. The first two options are cheaper. The third option is if you want to stay a Skeith (or if don't really fight often at all and don't plan to, you can use a single use full healer like a Jade Elixir or Lucky Robots Foot - whatever one is cheaper.
The next priority (again, assuming you're in this for awhile and want to create a dangerous battlepet is a 100% freezer). I'll hold of on suggestions there until I have more info on your wishes, and/or what you'd like to do about a healer, as your budget could be about anywhere after the healer (you could of course work towards the full healer, another option).
alright, thanks a lot everyone.
