I keep getting this when I try to use the IRC link:
[00:50] Unable to connect : java.net.ConnectException : Connection timed out: connect
My internet connection is fine, so what's going on?
This is most likely a firewall issue. Try relaxing your settings, and see if it works.

It's not a firewall issue, I just tested it and couldn't connect.
Strange, I'm not sure either, as nomore.lag.in, the DNS address used to connect is functioning properly.
If you want to be on IRC like right now, it'd probably be best if you download an IRC client.

Nope, nomore.lag.in is retired, and still broken. It's fixed now (moved link to strawberrysnow) thanks for posting about this
