That NPC gives the item for the opposite legendary, allowing you to fight him as a lvl 70.
Now, talking about legendaries, now they are becoming more dragon type (I dislike the class), remember the times when Mewtwo was very hard to be defeated, even more if it had some powerfull attacks.

I remember back in my day we had five legendarys, the three legendary birds, Mewtwo, and Mew, and you were very lucky if you could even get your hands on that last one! But nowadays they got legendary pokemon everywhere you go! Here's a legendary, there's a legendary, and look, there's a legendary right behind you! Heck, they have legendaries as the version mascots in today's games! Back when I was a wee gamer, the version mascots were Charizard, Venusaur, Blastoise, and Pikachu, and we liked it!
Seriously though, they are going slightly overboard with legendarys IMO. Can't say too much bad about them though, as Regigigas's name and appearance is made of win and awesome.
I managed to get Mew and a Celebi in a Nintendo magazine event, no gameshark needed ^^

On the stylus, when you preorder the game you'll get a stylus pen that has one of the legendaries (Pa and Da) on the tip of the pen, about an inch or two tall. It just looks kinda cool.
I had panned to preorder today, but I was still recovering from my sleep loss and just finally woke up...at 4 in the afternoon. -.- I'll do it tomarrow. I want that stylus pen! I just hope I can pick mine. I'll take a photo of it if you guys want.
Though when I preordered Naruto: Ultimate Ninja, I didn't get my keychain...
I went to Target today and saw that pens, and you're right Armi, those things ARE cool looking. I'll probally preorder Pearl next time I go there (which, assuming the stylus you get corresponds to your game, will be another advantage to getting Pearl, as Palkia looks much cooler than Dialga).
Also, I couldn't help but notice that Target dedicated an entire DS SHELF for the pokemon Diamond and Pearl preorders. Looks like they have high expectations for the game, expectations which probally won't be disapointed.
I already have both (JP versions), and it doesn't dissapoint, if there is communication between english and jp versions, I'll give you all some shaymi and darkrai I scored from some nubs (they felt sorry for me as they thought my voice sounded horse to them)
I'll also be getting the english versions, so count on me for getting Naetoru and Pocchama. (Chimchar looks like GIR, hence why I'm not getting it).

Wait, you can preorder at Target? W00t! My mom gave me a gift card on V-day that has 25 dollars on it. If I can preorder it and pay with cash for the first part, I can just gift card the game when it's out. Sweet. Glad Gamestop and Target are next to each other.
