Speed, mostly. Getting outsped by Starlys is more of an issue for Turtwig, but Piplup does get outrun by the odd poke. Hitting hard on both sides of the spectrum helps, too, against early game walls.
Looks like Mystery Gift activated automatically, without being gained in-game. Not sure yet whether the Manaphy can be shiny, but it can be soft-reset so I might try a couple dozen times.
Manaphy can be shiny, just like any other pokemon.
I know Manaphy can be, but I'm not sure whether there's been any confirmation whether the Wonder Card Pokemon have any "limits" of any sort. There was some acronym used in the Serebii Forums about some other giveaway where the Pokemon was "set" (set nature, possibly set IVs, possibly set as non-shiny). So far, Manaphy's IVs and Nature aren't set, but I'm not sure about its shiny potential.

That's a common misconception; Blissey still walls Aura Sphere with ease. That's how overpowered the thing is as far as SP attack defending goes. I, personally, just use my Trickspecs Rotom to limit any Blisseys I see to one move. Works like a charm, especailly if I switch Rotom into a Seismic Toss.

1. Back in the RBY days, the only dragon type attack that did damage was Dragon Rage. Water/Dragon would have meant no type weaknesses (of course, Psychic was close to that, but they tried to put
some balance into it).
2. If I recall correctly, Flying has something to do with an old Japanese legend. I know the evolution from Magikarp to that giant water beast does, and I'm pretty sure that that giant water beast could fly in the sky.

'Twas the sentiment I was echoing, not the actual concept of Aura Sphere countering Blissey. The fact that the blob stands up to Focus Blast kinda says it all, really. That said, Azelf COULD do with Aura Sphere.
I find myself blowing up my Magnezone to stop Blissey a ridiculous number of times. If it's already trapped and killed a Skarmory/Bronzong/Gross then I don't mind so much, but if it hasn't...

They 'tried', you say? I'm sure Slowbro cowered in fear from LICK and PIN MISSILE while it happily Amnesia-d away.

In which case, Gyarados should at least be able to fly, yeah?

Hey, they gave everything some type weakness. That was probably good enough for them.
Yah, it would make some sense for it to at least get fly. AA would be nice too, and would fit better. I still don't understand why Ursaring gets AA, yet Gyarados can't.

I don't think it's that much of an issue, metagame-wise. In Advance, he had HP Flying, and now he has physical Waterfall. Flying + Water's not the most brilliant of type combos, and Return is still stronger than AA.
Eh, I'm just saying that it would be nice. I did forget about Return though. Gets no coverage, but it does still do some nice damage.
they should make more dragon moves as dragon hail, 70 att 100 acc 10pp 30% of paralizing the foe
