Just go there and all will make sense. =P Namly, just check everything in the first section of the sidebar.
I'll probally be able to resist getting the game at first, but once it's out and everybody's saying how good it is I'll break down and get one of them.

As far as the version goes, I'll probally get Pearl; not only do I like the Legendary better, but it seems to be the less popular version, meaning my version exclusives are more valuable and somewhat harder to obtain, meaning slightly better chances at getting trades. Not much, but slight better is still better.

As far as the starter goes, I'm breaking my usual tradition. I normally go for the fire type, but there's something about this one that fills me with rage (might be the fact that it has the same typing as the awesome Blaziken). Therefore, I'll probally go for the grass type starter, as my teams have ALWAYS lacked a good grass type. Always.
I'll be getting the Water starter, of course, as I always do. I've always preferred Water. I do not yet know which verison to get, as I'm basing that decision on which version one of my friends gets.

I also just purchased Fire Red the other day, and will be playing it over spring break next week. Therefore, once Diamond & Pearl are out, I will be able to provide Squirtle eggs to those that want them.

Wait a minute, the DS is uncopatible with Game Boy Advance in the multiplayer things, I mean, we need cables to do such transfers.

Can you explain me how do you do that thing, I mean, transfering pokémon from the GBA to the DS games?

In case it is possible, and if I get the DS game, I can provide torchic eggs Toungue

The DS games allow you to transfer Pokemon from a game in the GBA slot.
Ah, I get it now.

Now, it is only matter of getting the game, so, Torchic eggs for everyone (raising a fist on the air)

I'd also be able to provide Mudkip eggs, though they pale in comparison to Squirtles Toungue
I've changed my mind several times, but I'll probably end up getting Diamond (just because it sounds so much better than Pearl Toungue). My starter would be a water.

Just curious though, since I haven't been able to find this, but what is the exact difference between Diamond and Pearl?
From what I saw on serebii.net, the only difference is the usual one: certain pokemon can't be found in one version.
Hmm, well, I figured that. Toungue Any clue on where I can find a list of the missing Pokemon for each version? I seem to suck at the google. Toungue

If there's a cool looking Pokemon or two missing from a certain version, that'll probably persuade me to get the other. XD

And as with Gold/Silver/Ruby/Sapphire, there is a legendary unique to each verison (not counting Crystal/Emerald). I'm probably going to get Pearl since I have no real preference, and my friend is leaning towards Diamond. That means I'd end up with Palkia, the Water/Dragon legendary. Dialgia, the Steel/Dragon legendary, is available only in Diamond.
