Somehow, I don't think we face the same Shoddy opponents, because I've seen my fair share of CBers. And Tauros is a personal favourite of mine (has been, ever since early 386 battling on the bots, =3).

Incidentally, what do you go by on Shoddy?

FreezeHax. Couldn't think of anything better, lol. Oh, and the sudden surge of Yanmega leads needs to die.
So much metagame talk... it's a wonder I can follow any of it.

What are Wonder Cards, though?
Could you take it easy on the acronyms? I'm having a hard time following you guys. o_o

Sure thing. Toungue Let's sift through what's been said so far though.

Uber - Highest tier of competitive battling where the cream of the crop banned in the standard metagame ends up. Generally due to insane base stat totals, but exceptions include stuff like Mew/Manaphy that would walk all over Overused opponents despite comparatively less stellar stats.

CM - Calm Mind

+~ - Number of boosts received from a stat-upping move (i.e. Calm Mind)

CH - Critical Hit

Wall - Literally something that sits down to absorb damage. Think Cresselia with Thunder Wave/Reflect/Moonlight/Psychic. Not going to hurt you, but you're not going to hurt it either. Annoying for the most part. Hence my overwhelming hatred for the pink blob that is Blissey. (Getting a surprise KO on my Relicanth by Counter-ing was NOT fun, cooldude!)

CB-er - Pokemon with Choice Band attached. I have a soft spot for these.

IB - Ice Beam

SD - Swords Dance

scarfed - Choice Scarf attached

We'll lay off the acronyms for the most part now. Innocent

I have absolutely no idea.
Hehe. Counter Blissey has saved me several times, max HP/Defense Bliss is sturdier than you would think.
Clefable is probably the most underrated pokemon in this game. Sure, it doesn't have the stats to be OU, but it has just enough to make use of it's enormous movepool. Clefable's strength is it's versatility, since there's no real way to counter it without figuring out it's movepool. Although, I think the Thunderwave/Encore/Softboiled/Seismic Toss is probably my favorite move pool, since no matter what you do, it's going to be a hell of a long fight to bring down that pink tub of goo. If you attempt to set up, prepare to endure Encore/ThunderWave; if you attempt to sweep it, it'll shrug off the damage and recover fully with softboiled; If you do absolutely nothing, and are not a ghost, you will endure Seismic Toss damage.

It's absolutely glorious, and since it can learn moves like psychic/shadow ball to combat ghost and other Pokemon, you can keep on playing a guessing game with your opponent for a good chuck of the match. There's virtually no way to directly counter this Pokemon, due to it's incredibly wide move pool. It can be guaranteed to make your opponent's head spin.
Heh. I took a look at Clefable, went "Hey, that's cool, I should use it!", then promptly forgot about it. I agree though, I don't know why I'm not seeing it used at all. A Calm Mind + Counter set sounds sweet too (Calm Mind/Softboiled/Counter/Sp. Attack of choice?) Might get walled too easy with only one attach though. Dropping Counter would be the smart choice, but it's just so fun Toungue

Clefable is fairy good with counter, due to it's ability to absorb any hit, but the problem is what you said-- being walled to easily. Although don't let that stop you, I raised about seven or so Clefables with near-perfect IVs (that face is too cute to say no =D) with completely different sets for each one. If anyone ever challenges me, I just pick a random one and proceed to play the game.

I suppose the main reason why people don't use it too often is because they look at the base stats and they just see it as being an average Pokemon with above average defenses and HP. I wish people would use this thing more often and stop using Salamence every damn battle.
I built a team for my sister revolving entirely around Clefable. Toungue The Clefable itself is so situational I laugh my head off every time she pulls it off. Which has been always. =3 People need to stop finding it funny when Memento gets used against them. Least when it allows a speed pass to Clefable@Toxic Orb - Belly Drum/Facade/Brick Break/Meteor Mash. Stopped by so many things it's not even funny. But priceless when pulled off.

I run BD/Double-Edge/Meteor Mash/Softboiled@Salac myself. No joke breeding this, mind you, every Clefairy with decent IVs kept keeping Cute Charm after Pal-Parking and evolution. And being Adamant means I can't use them for the 1001 other Clefable sets... Sad Special Clefable got shafted due to only getting HAIPAR BEAM for normal STAB... Where's Tri Attack? If RBY could give it to Clefable, why not DP?

I remember using CM/Thunder/Counter/Softboiled in a RSBot tourney team before. No idea why or how it actually worked though...

Yep. DP has made so many pokes usable I don't see why standards run amok. (No, no calling me a hypocrite because I use Mence on my WiFi team, cooldude, I'm currently breeding a mixed Flygon to replace it)

Rotfl That's priceless! I'm gonna go make a Shoddy team revolving around that right now Toungue

And Nintendo really needs to get on it and give certain Pokemon certain moves pronto...

Snorlax wants Slack Off
Regice (other Regi's too I suppose) wants Recover
Flareon wants Flare Blitz
Luxray wants Volt Tackle
Starmie wants Focus Blast
More Decent Stuff wants Rapid Spin (yay Delibird!)
More Decent Stuff wants Follow Me (that move is godly in 2v2, at least Togetic evolved)

And Dragon needs to stop being such a broken attacking type. At least don't give EVERY SINGLE DRAGON the fire/ground/fighting moves to get rid of walling steels.
