Just out of curiosity, what team did you use? I think mine was Blaziken/Kadabra/Glalie/Breloom, with Gyara and Tropius for HM slaves.

I've never really used Sharpedo, except for my friend's Emerald (he was stuck at Tate & Liza, with a HORRIBLE team
) STAB Crunch + resistance to Flamethrower and Ice Beam was nice...
In-game, you generally go for type coverage, hence Sharpedo makes an excellent fit (competitively, it's a joke, really), covering Water/Dark/Ice/Ground. It's also why the Fire starters are the way to go for speed runs.
Time to speed through Pearl, then I'll get work to building up my army of Synchronizers... *sigh*
hi again im playing a friend LG and i need a bit of advice on HM slaves i got surf and strengt so i want to use only two im i safari zone so pokemons of the area please
HM Slaves are hard to come by in FRLG, the water HMS are easily covered by any random water poke, but as a rule, Fly-ers tend to have limited alternate HM options. Tropius is easily the best HM slave, past and present, but since that's not available in FRLG you might have to make do with a set of 3 slaves.
Then again, Safari Zone, huh?
Dragonite - Cut/Fly/Strength/Rock Smash
Staryu - Surf/Waterfall/Flash/Dive
Dragonite's got that spectacular lv55 evolution so... Nothing else springs to mind though.
*cough* Dive isn't an HM in FRLG
But anyway, what I used was:
Gyarados - Surf, Waterfall, Strength, Rock Smash
Paras(ect) - Cut, Flash, Dig, Spore (just because Spore rocks
)
And then I slapped Fly on my Charizard. Beats leveling a Draggy up to 55, but not everyone has a flier on their team, so...

Shows what I know about FRLG. =3 I remember beating it with nothing but an obscenely-over levelled Charizard. Plenty of space for HM slaves in that team.

Say no more. And Adamant Lapras works. In DP, that is.
Speaking of which, unless I'm much mistaken, azulblast has a nice Lapras bred. I'm too lazy to try for one myself.
