I want to get the rusty lamppost for two reasons, because then i'll have the top prize and something to show for my accomplishments and because if it gets upgraded, hopefully it will be a good weapon. However right now, the reselling value is just so poor! It's such a worthless item! It's almost an embarrassment to TNT to offer such a piece of junk to the highest scorers.
Then again, if I skip the rusty lamppost, I can use the points for things with larger reselling value, such as the paintbrush and the top book. Then after selling them I could use the neopoints toward a weapon I DO want.
Have any of you redeemed your points yet?? If so, what is everyone getting? I need some advice. .
Give it a few more days ('till, say, on Friday when the news is posted), and see if TNT's touched the weapons yet. If an upgrade's going to happen, it should happen soon. Hopefully.
And don't think of it as the "Top Prize." It's clearly not, and you aren't being forced to get it, so you don't need to. Your Trophy shows how well you did: any prize can always be bought by anyone. If you want to buy a better reselling Item (the Ghost Paint Brush), sell that, and then buy the Rusty Lampost, do it that way for profit. Personally I say do it entirely for profit, or if you're a Furniture junky like me, go with the Furny,

. Mind you, I haven't spent any of my points yet. Unless TNT touches the weapons first, I definitely won't be touching them at all. Granted, the Creeping Shadow Hammer
looks cool.

Even if they didn't gave you a trophy you know what you did and how you did it. How to redeem your points is up to you. Personally i've always got what i like (of course in my posibilities). I've never regreted. I may end buying furniture and junk that has a great name, yes that hammer
looks cool (some of the best looking weapons, don't you think?).
Dudes, buy the paintbrush... Scarab ring ownes the lampost, and makes more icons, and icon variety.
Right now the weapons are really just collectors items. Their current stats are worthless in the battledome. Their NP:point ratio is not as good as the paintbrush but all this may change.

then i shall smack their heads! because it is no fair since the altador cup prizes is WAYYYYY better than this plot..this plot consists of war +puzzles..

so?! its just the same as LDP! i think..
You know the top prize for beating Aaa in Daily Dare every day is going to be an ubercool weapon. I just know it is.
I wouldn't be so sure. Neopets hasn't exactly been falling over backwards to be nice to battlers (check out the latest plot prizes, and those came partly from fighting, while these prices will be from strictly gaming). One would expect and hope that the prize (nope, I won't be getting one, I'm not very good at games) will be something unique and valuable, but then, after the underwhelming everyone with the plot prizes, don't bet the house on it. At least with the daily dare, you're earning nps while you participate, and whatever you get at the end is a bonus. But I'm not at all sure that Neopets is going to make the top gaming prize a weapon, though I do hope all of the top prizes will be personally.
There's another piece of evidence to consider: Lost Desert Plot gave Ring of the Lost as the best prize, and a lot of battlers ignored the plot except for the battling (as that's their niche and interest). Once they saw the Prize, they rushed to complete the Altador Plot when it was released, and only got another daily (one that's only slightly better than most of the others, though I'm happy with the two or so pieces of Furniture that we get from it). Even after that, most of us still rushed to complete the Tale of Woe, only to receive these prizes, which aren't useless, but have no Battle Dome application for practical purposes.
Basing the assumption that the Daily Dare will yield another all-physical blocker the way the Altador Cup offered two is foolish as well. That was the first game-based competition, just as the Lost Desert Plot was the first plot-based competition. TNT followed the Lost Desert Plot with two plots that gave nothing useful in the way of weapons. It's quite plausible that the Daily Dare won't result in a great Prize, either, even though the majority of BDers won't be able to beat AAA on every day (I've only beat him on two, and went against Abigail for the rest simply for the weaker prize at the end). Even if the prize from beating AAA is a weapon, there's no guarantee that it will be phenomenal in the way the Ring of the Lost was (after all, the Altador Cup items only fill a limited niche of use, whereas the Ring of the Lost covered a big one).
I still think there will be an uber prize for defeating Aaa every day. I mean, not many people will be capable of doing that. Not to mention, Aaa's side already got a 6-icon weapon from one of the games.
On another note, did they upgrade the lamp? It's doing 7 icons of light for me.

To make the lamp worthy a price of the time spent on that plot, upgrading it to a 10 iconer with the defensive ability still in tact would be a better news.
Actually, that wouldn't be enough either I think

Actually, no it's not. I just tried it, and no upgrade

You were probably on Fierce Attack.
