This is a guide for Dragon Knights. But since I'm only level 30 at the moment, it is unfinished. I will update as I level up.

Creating the Character

To start with, you have to create your character in a world. This character will stay in that world but will be available in all servers. Simply choose how you want your character to look and the name you want it to be called. You DO NOT want this name to be the same as your sign in name. Then, click on the dice to roll your stats. Simple right? NO! It is not that simple. To become a proper warrior, you will need your INT and LUK to be 4/4. It does not matter what STR and DEX are. STR and DEX are what gives us warriors our power to kill. You will be able to fix this later so make sure you have 4/4 on INT and LUK to start with. If you are impatient, they can be 4/5 or 5/5. Make sure it does not go over 5/5. Your ideal stats will be:

STR: X
DEX: X
INT: 4
LUK: 4

Maple Island

You start off on Maple Island. You will see a NPC (Non-Playable Character). Double click NPCs to talk to them. Here, you will receive your first quest. Simply follow the instructions and you will get your very first EXP (experience). Read instructions carefully if this is your first time playing. Keys are easy to learn once you get the hang of it. After you have done the first quest, go through the portal. Double click the NPC and follow instructions. Here, you will get 3 EXP. Go through the portal.

Now, you will be killing. Talk to the NPC again. He will ask you to kill and deliver. Very easy monsters actually, Jr Sentinel. The real ones are not easy but these are tailor-made for beginners. I stayed to kill Jr Sentinels until level 2. You will get to level two after you finish the quest. This is important. After you get to level 2, you will receive 5 APs (Ability Points). If you are thinking "I will just put one into each and the one left into a random one!", you are wrong. All you want is to have 10 DEX by level 10 and the rest into STR. If you get to 10 DEX at level 3, leave it alone and put every single AP afterwards into STR until level 10.

Go through the portal again and walk until you see Sam. Double click and accept the quest. You need to kill 10 Snails from now until you see Mai who is a few screens across. Personally, I killed Snails until level 5 before I went to Mai. Keep killing Snails and pick up whatever they drop. If you get any type of clothing or weapons, immediately use them because they are better than the ones you have. Remember, DEX until 10, rest into STR.

On the screen where Mai is, you will see another NPC before that. This is Maria. Simply double click, deliver the letter to Lucas in Amherst and return Lucas' letter to Maria for a free headpiece. Before you get to Amherst however, talk to Mai and she will give you another quest. You need to kill 10 Snails, 10 Blue Snails and 10 Shrooms. Not too difficult. You should be taking these monsters down with ease. When you get to Amherst, talk to Rain for a quiz. You will get lots of EXP from that. Walk a little further to find Pio, and do his quest. Break open boxes to find Rusty Screws and Wood Boards. Easy. When you have all the materials, talk to Pio to receive your 100 EXP and 200 Mesos. Done? NO! Talk to him again and go finish whatever quests you are doing. After you have finished, talk to Pio again. This time, he will give you a free chair! It recovers 50 health per 10 seconds which is way better than 10 health per 10 seconds.

After you have killed the Snails and Shrooms, talk to Mai again to kill Orange Mushrooms. These are way more difficult as they have 80 health. Remember to go to Southperry to find Biggs. He needs 30 Blue Snail Shells and 10 Orange Mushroom Caps. Do this quest for a good weapon. A good place to hunt Orange Mushrooms are where the DANGER signs are. Press the up arrow on your keyboard to enter. Do not worry about dying. Once you have finished, go back to Biggs to receive your weapon. Good on you if you got a Fruit Knife. If you got a Razor, well, it is not as good but use it anyway. It is still better than your current weapon. After completing all the quests, you should be at level 8. Either train to level 9 and then go to Lith Harbour or just go now. To get to Lith Harbour, go to Southperry on Maple Island and board the ship to Lith Harbour for 150 Mesos.

1st Job Advancement

Once you have arrived at Lith Harbour, find Olaf who is somewhere in Lith Harbour close to the bottom. Answer his questions and double click him after the quiz. Choose "The Path of Warrior" because that is what you are going to be right? After that, head to the portal on the right-most of the screen and enter it. Here, you will find monsters. Snails and Slimes. You do not have to kill all of them or train to a particular level. Just head north to Kerning City. By now, you should be at level 10. Take a cab to Perion because you want to make the job advancement at level 10 so you will not miss out on Skill Points (SP). Go all the way up and into the building at the top. Here, you will find Dances With Balrog, the Warrior Master. Talk to him and he will allow you to become a warrior. You will receive and upgrade to your inventory and one SP. Put it into Improving HP Recovery. Head down to the weapon store and purchase a Metal Axe. Go back one floor down to find Ayan and do her quest of killing 50 Stumps. Before that, go to the left of the screen to find Blackbull. Accept his quest.

To do those quests, you have to go to the right of the Perion screen to find Stumps. Kill Dark Stumps and Stumps but not Axe Stumps. They can kill you easily because your avoidability is low and your accuracy is low. After doing those two quests, WALK your way down to Henesys to find Bruce and do his quest. I suggest walking for more EXP and level up faster. After doing Bruce's first quest, do his second "I need to find my daughter". Walk to Perion and back. On your way to Perion, go to Kerning City and find Icarus to do his quest. It will take some time. Go to Perion and back down to Henesys through Ellinia. Find Wing the Fairy and do her quest. Back down to Henesys to talk to Bruce now. And now back up to Ellinia or Kerning City depending on whose quest you finished first. Then go to Perion and all the way back down to train at Henesys.

When you get to level 15, do the following quests:

Maya and the Weird Medicine (not really needed unless you are in need of cash)
Luke the Security Guy
John's Pink Flower Basket
Nelly & Kerning City Citizen's Requests Part I, II and III
DANGER! <1-G. Mushroom> Part I and II

The first two will take some time until higher levels because the monsters you need to fight are not that easy. I will not go over every quest in detail because it tells you all you need to know. If not, look them up on http://www.hidden-street.net which gives you full detail.

Get to level 20 and do the following quests:

Pia and the Blue Mushroom
Alex the Runaway Kid
Winston's Fossil Dig Up I and II
Mrs Ming Ming's First Worry
DANGER! <2-H. Mushroom> Part I and II

Congratulations if you got Weighted Earrings from Alex the Runaway Kid. If you didn't, you'll have to kill lots of Zombie Mushrooms and hope to get them if you want to do Dr Betty's quest. I recommend doing parts I and II of the Horny Mushroom quest because you get 1,100 EXP which would take 27 full kills of Zombie Mushrooms to make. And killing Zombie Mushrooms at level 20 is not a good idea. I recommend to have a few return scrolls with you so you can use them when you're about to die but haven't got enough potions.

Continue training to level 23 and do these quests:

Mrs Ming Ming's Second Worry (Level 21)
Dr Betty's Research on Plants Part I and II (Level 22)
Dr Betty's Research on Animal Fossils (Level 22)
DANGER! <3-Z. Mushroom> Part I and II (Level 22)
Camilla's Gem (Level 23)

Some of you may be itching to start the Kerning City Party Quest as soon as you hit level 21 but I advise you not to. Ligators have extremely high avoidability and you will probably run out of potions before you manage to hit him even once. They also do quite some damage to you. The best people to party with in the Party Quest is a magician or a rogue. It's best to have 2 magicians and 1 rogue. I would advise to keep the Kerning City Party Quest until at least level 27. Instructions are quite straight forward so follow the instructions and you won't make a mistake. Be sure to stock up on Pizzas or White Potions before you start the quest.

When you've hit level 25, go to Sleepywood, Henesys, Kerning City, Lith Harbour and Ellinia to accept all the quests. They're a bit tough for now, but you can try kill a few monsters on your way training. It is advised not to try complete a quest yet. Just go around killing. The quests:

Sabitrama and the Diet Medicine
Arwen and the Glass Shoes
Jane and the Wild Boar
Nella & the Kerning City Citizen's Request
Mystery of the Niora Hospital
Find the Maple History Book

You can try to complete Sabitrama and the Diet Medicine now. I personally am impatient so I haven't done it yet. Find the Maple History Book is not good to do yet because you need to go to Lubridium which is unsafe for now.

AP Distribution

SP Distribution

By level 30, you should have:

STR: 100 (at least)
DEX: 60 (at least)
10 Improving HP Recovery
10 Improving Max HP Increase (MAX)
20 Power Strike (MAX)
20 Slash Blast (MAX)

It is time for your 2nd job advancement, spearman. This I will go over in detail.

2nd Job Advancement - Spearman

You will need to purchase your level 30 weapon from other players due to the fact that the weapon store doesn't sell the Mithril Polearm. Buy Hwarang Shirt and Black Martial Arts Pants from the Perion Armour Store. Helmet, you need to stick with Iron Burgernet Helm. You won't travel all the way to Orbis just for a Jousting Helmet. As for shoes, you want the ones Nella gave you for doing her quest. This will be mentioned later when I update after I'm level 25. Stick with Venon as gloves. Shield I would ignore since I don't think you can use them with a Mithril Polearm anyway. Clearly:

Male
Level: 30
Weapon: Mithril Polearm
Armour: Hwarang Shirt, Black Martial Arts Pants
Shoes: The ones you got from Nella
Gloves: Venon
Helmet: Iron Burgernet Helm
Shield: None

Female
Level: 30
Weapon: Mithril Polearm
Armour: Blue Shark, Blue Shark Skirt
Shoes: The ones you got from Nella
Gloves: Venon
Helmet: Iron Burgernet Helm
Shield: None

You can try to upgrade your helmet if you want, but I would recommend not to unless you just happen to have the correct items to upgrade.

You also want a lots and lots of potions before you go. Probably 50 White Potions and 50 Mana Elixirs. The 50 Mana Elixirs should be obtained from <3-Z. Mushroom> quest.

Head back to Shrine of Warriors once you've hit level 30 and talk to Dances With Balrog. He'll give you a letter which you have to pass to the Job Advancement Instructor near Perion. After giving the letter, you'll be given an errand to collect 30 Dark Marbles by defeating monsters. These monsters are tailor-made so that they only drop Dark Marbles and nothing else.

So you've collected all 30 Dark Marbles. Now what? Obviously go back to the instructor and he'll award you with a Proof of a Hero. Go back to Shrine of Warriors and talk to Dances With Balrog. He will advance you as Spearman.

Once he has advanced you, he should've given you some upgrade scrolls and one SP. Save the scrolls and use the SP. Put it into Polearm Mastery.

FAQs

Q: Why kill Stumps when Slimes and Red Snails have lower health but give out higher and same EXP?
A: Stumps give items for quests which you'll be needing. You can kill all three monsters.

Q: Why use Pig Illustrated at level 25 when Fusion Mace does 2 more damage?
A: That's because Pig Illustrated gives you 10 accuracy which is needed if you want to PQ at level 25. You can use Fusion Mace or Plunger but you wouldn't be able to PQ yet.

This is it for now. I will update as soon as I level up.

I have a bit of a trouble with making the AP and SP Distribution table. Can someone help with how to make tables on this forum? Or can you not do that?

Please give your opinions
Quote:You will need to purchase your level 30 weapon from other players due to the fact that the weapon store doesn't sell the Mithril Polearm.
Actually, weapons and armor up to level 40 can be bought in shops, just not the shops in Victoria.

I don't see why training places for males and females should differ at all.

There's already a great training guide for warriors here: http://www.sleepywood.net/forum/showthre...?t=1032453

Warriors can switch power strike and slash blast, either one can be done first.

The "dex = 2 x your level" is ok for people new to the game, but people who know what they're doing can go lower by using the Accuracy calculator to know how much acc they need to hit the stuff they're going to train on.

I don't think a step-by-step guide is needed. AP and SP are really the only important things, in my opinion.

I don't think it is wise to waste money going to Orbis and then coming back.  It wastes time and money.

Spaz Wrote:I don't see why training places for males and females should differ at all.
If you read more carefully, it is the equipment that have changed.  Not the training places.

A guide is only a guide when it gives full detail.  Otherwise, it is only an essay.

Spaz Wrote:Warriors can switch power strike and slash blast, either one can be done first.
Slash Blast can aid in training with Zombie Mushrooms.  You can't face a whole lot of them while still level 20.

Spaz Wrote:The "dex = 2 x your level" is ok for people new to the game, but people who know what they're doing can go lower by using the Accuracy calculator to know how much acc they need to hit the stuff they're going to train on.
If they know the amount of accuracy needed to hit the monsters they will train on, they don't need any guide at all.
WiltChamberlain13 Wrote:I don't think it is wise to waste money going to Orbis and then coming back. It wastes time and money.
even before level 40 you would most probably be training at either orbis or Ludi therefore it would not be a waste to go to Orbis to get your equipment if no one else is selling

WiltChamberlain13 Wrote:Slash Blast can aid in training with Zombie Mushrooms. You can't face a whole lot of them while still level 20.
Usually you don't go and train at Zombie Mushrooms at level 20 unless you are funded.
With powerstrike you can 1 hit green mushrooms, which is a better training option.

Why...since you haven't put in the 'Beginners guide to Dragon Knight' I think I'll have to say that the glove should be a +attack work glove and shoes should be red snowshoes. Overalls are much more useful than two piece ^^;; And for damage, blue bamboo hats are much better. But the final point that I want to make on the first quote is that you shouldn't really have guides for equipts. Its just something you dont do.

A guide wont be a guide if people cant follow what you do. Dex = 2x level is much easier to follow than accuracy has to be #### for [monster] for ###% of hitting. I cant @_@
revival_of_wiz_kid Wrote:even before level 40 you would most probably be training at either orbis or Ludi therefore it would not be a waste to go to Orbis to get your equipment if no one else is selling
Yes, but what I'm talking about is going to Orbis buying Mithril Polearm and THEN coming back to Perion for the 2nd job advancement.

Maybe you people like to train slowly.  I go the fast way.

You can tell Spaz that.

At level 37ish-50, you HAVE to be at orbis to do PQ, or it'll take for ever and it'll eat all of your mental endurance for maplestory.

At level 20, green mushrooms are much easier to hunt for a warrior class. You really have to be financially supported to hunt zombie mushrooms are lv 20 ^^;;;

Edit: But Spaz was saying stats should be followed in a simpler way UNLESS the person can figure it out on their own.
I would actually say try training at Florina Beach at level 35-ish but I'm not sure yet. Haven't reached that level.
XD Dont over do yourself. You dont have to make guides yet. Just enjoy the game for now.
I don't see why it's so funny to train at Florina Beach. Seriously.
WiltChamberlain13 Wrote:I don't see why it's so funny to train at Florina Beach. Seriously.

Maybe it is the fact that the monsters there do a lot of damage to you and make you waste unneccessary pots, that is if you have enough ACC to hit those monsters.
Jr Kitties and Brown/Pink Teddies are much easier to train on compared to Lupin at level 35.
When you get to 35, try training at Florina Beach then switch to Pink Teddy. you will notice the difference, Pink Teddy makes you level up much faster and you dont waste as many potions
