G: YES. After 8 freakin' battles, with 5 losses, and 2 draws for the first 7, I finally beat the Disgruntled Townspeople. I'm happy now.
C: seeing how long it took me really tells me how much I need to make money and upgrade my set. ><

So how come we never got the old "only 100 people at a time are allowed on the battlepedia" message during this war?
New servers or not as popular?

War Challengers are gone! Regular 1-p opponents are back in there.

They're gone? And with no plot updates? Wait... what kind of idiocy convinced TNT to kill the waves for the weekend?
I didn't finish maxing against the Creeping or Shreiking Shadows. I ended up overusing the Shrieking Shadows to recover and kept pushing Herman Dorfdrap to insane limits I shouldn't have kept pushing (though it was fun pushing him to 129 wins when I'd stopped first at 100).
I really hope TNT plans to re-release all the waves, but having them turned off for the weekend, and putting the regular Opponents back in the BD, doesn't look like a good omen. I suppose I should try finishing DoN now, though.

Well, I never really believed this was a war, just a part of the plot. That seems to be confirmed now. TNT are retards.

TNT are retards. As tempted as I am to agree with that, someone knew what they were doing when they designed the Opponents and their sets. While coders don't run management, we still haven't seen a plot update to explain either the Shadow Opponents or to account for the sudden absence of Opponents.
If nothing else, the plot's not over yet.
Part of me is tempted to speculate that we faced a limited number of each Opponent, or of each wave. I don't think limited Opponents are something we've seen since the second Meridell War, but something's pricking in the back of my mind. Something seems almost too automated about this "War," and it seemed to glitch by releasing wave four as weaker than wave three, as well as not giving the proper plot update. I almost want to argue that we weren't meant to fight wave four at all.

TNT never said this was a "war" -- in fact, they confirmed early on that it wasn't (in last week's editorial):
I actually think it was quite well done. Yeah, they could have left the opponents around longer, and yes, the lag was killer... but I don't think they saw that coming, and they did all they could to remedy it. I think they probably originally intended to leave each wave there as we got the next, but ended up having to take them away so the lag wouldn't kill the BD. In any case, they had a good number of opponents (12 is already more opponents than any one battler was allowed to fight in any past war), they planned the challengers' battlesets well, and we had a nice range of difficulties to fight. Plus, I'm not quite ready to believe the fighting is all over yet. We could always face another (nice hard) wave or a boss.
Quote:This is a plot, and plots can include puzzles and battling (and whatever else we think of).
...
To clarify things for this plot, though, we will tell you that battling DOES count, but for how much, we won't say. *cackle*
