I have a total lab rat that is going to remain so, since it is going to cost too much to even out his stats which are

now since my defence is bad i picked up a rotl sometime back. i was considering whether i should pick up a Yooyuball Keepers Chest Guard or not. it is currently going for around 1mill on the tp. my set is

Bow of Destiny
Honey Potion
Entangling Lenny Lasso
Purple Sticky Hand

my basic choice is whether
1) to buy Yooyuball Keepers Chest Guard or Yooyuball Player Sling

2) or sell my ell and stuff in my sdb to get the h4000.

the second option makes more sense since i am a total lab rat. but investment wise the retired weapons look good. my main income is from stocks. more one player battling than 2p.

open to other ideas too. have around 3mill to spare on this.

Definitely sell the Entangling Lenny Lasso since your pet is a lab rat. I would try sell it for 2.7 million or put it up for auction. If the value of the items in your SDB add up to 5 million, I'd say buy the H4000 Helmet.

If I had to choose between Yooyuball Keepers Chest Guard or Yooyuball Player Sling with your set, I'd choose Yooyuball Player Sling. Leaf Shield already blocks 5 water and 5 earth so I'd rather block full physical. But if I can choose another shield, I think I'd pick the Mystical White Cloak to block icons that Leaf Shield doesn't defend.

See how much you'll be left over after getting H4000 Helmet. It'll affect the choices of what to get.

With these sats, any icon-based defense is practically useless. To be honest, unless your a noobinator, pets that you fight in the same boosts as you will overun your leaf shield/other icon based weapons even with the same amount of icons. The idea of a shield is that it's meant to block half of your opponents attack- with 54 defense, that isn't going to happen.

By this reasoning, you should buy the sling, as it has icons useful to you to add wheras the other doesnt. Use it to replace your leaf shield, as it is redundant with your stats. However, if price is important to you, go Winged Scarab- cheaper effective physical blocking.

i dont usually use the shield. its just something i have never really removed and goes to people who try stealing. downsize is my major blocker for a tight match.

i am actually wondering about what the price inflation is going to be like. the h4k seems capped because of mystery marbles in the ht. but the sling is retired.

most of the time i have enough hp to not worry about freezing. before a war or some important match i'd stop labbing and use a morphing potion.

hence i like the idea of winged scarab / sling. is its price likely to keep rising? or will it fall just after the haunted woods plot gets over?

what would be a good price to haggle for the sling and h4k? 7mill for the h4k seems a little too expensive.

Winged Scarab has close to no chance of its price rising. Their price on the Trading Post is around 400K now. The cheapest Yooyuball Player Sling I can find on the Trading Post currently is 2.7 million. Personally, I do not like the Winged Scarab and prefer the Yooyuball Player Sling over it. It becomes almost useless if your opponent doesn't use physical though, which is a shame.

You have no defence for any type of icons apart from dark, which is why I would suggest to buy a shield which blocks a variety of icons.

A shield that blocks a variety of icons won't help him because his defence boost is so low (35 boost!)... hence the full blocker suggestions.

Anyway, I like the sling because it does more attack icons, but the price is rather high compared to Winged Scarab, so it's up to you. Are you a 1-player battler, mostly? A full phys blocker would be more useful there, as most battlers in 2-player don't attack with large amounts of physical (it's usually the variable icon and they can end up doing just a couple). And in 1-player it's not really necessary to be able to block all icon types... since you know exactly what your opponent can do, you can equip an appropriate reflector or just double-freeze and/or spread out (some of) your drain life/burrow/sink/Downsize! uses long enough to win. You can beat all of DoN with 250 strength (and no defence to speak of) easily enough.

Having said that, I actually suggest that you get the H4K instead (or a Freezing Potion, if you can manage to get a good deal; sometimes you can actually get them for the same price/less than H4K). Like I said above, with a double-freeze using diamond dust and by choosing some good defensive abilities, you can beat all of DoN, and in fact can take out even 700-boost 1-player opponents. You don't really need a full phys blocker (I never had one), but a 100% freeze is an absolute must. Same goes for 2-player matches; you absolutely need a 100% freeze at this level, while a full phys blocker might come in handy at times, but definitely not often enough.

Finally, I don't think the yooyuball weapon's prices will rise that much... they're nowhere near as useful as RotL, so they'll never hit 5 mil, and the Winged Scarab is a perfectly viable alternative and is very cheap compared to them, so it'll keep the price down. Your RotL is a good enough investment -- forget the sling and go for a H4K. I'm not sure what you should pay... I paid 5.6 mil for my f-pot, but that was right after the LDP when people were desperate to sell them and get a RotL as fast as they could. The price shot up to 7 mil soon after.
