I have 250K and was wondering what a good set would be?
We'll need some info: your pet's species and stats, whether you lab, and whether you play 1-player or 2-player. Smile
Well i have a Krawk, HP 13, strength 17, defence 17, agility (Though it doesn't do anything 15) and level is 16
Stop training your level... training wise is a must if you want to be get more icons per nps. With that level youy can train until 35 boost (train hp, defense and attack).

I will leave other people to give you a cookie cutter set. But i strongly advise you to buy a greater healing scroll, a downsize!, a leaf shield and a scarab ring. They are cheap and will be useful on the short term.
If i may quote myself:

Earth Faerie Slingshot (35k)
Greater Healing Scroll (35k)
Downsize! (6k)
Leaf Shield (7k) and Mystical White Cloak (25k)
Green Frost Cannon or Snowglobe Staff (6k or 20k)
One-use bomb (snowball or muffin)
Purple Sticky Hand (1k)

Yes that is the cookie cutter 200k set. I have one issue though- at his level (sub 35 boost) downsize! isn't as useful as it could be. Not only is the often lack of opposing bombs an issue (maximising its usefulnesss in the first place) but common shields can cut more damage out of an opponents attack at this level anyway. Consider getting another shield for this slot (or preferably the dual duty scarab ring. this will give you more of an advantage)

There isnt much more you can do with the extra 50k, besides saving to get a Golden Compass to replace the slingshot (or Psellias Fighting Fan if you prefer).

You will get much more bang-for-ya-buck by using that extra np to train to the 35/boost and 55/boost in both strength and defense (hp in proportion)
With 13 HP you won't even be able to kill anybody in the Battledome if they have a healing item. First get your HP/STR/DEF up to at least 20 before you even consider fighting in the battledome. 35 would be better, but training takes time.

I use, although my items arn't exactly wonderful, and i'm pretty sure they cost more than 250k:

Ice Club x2-~150k-these are my main attacking weapons, and have gotten me through the first 3 missions of DoN quite easily.

Greater Healing Scroll-~35k-your healing item, it no longer breaks contrary to what it says in the description.

Green Frost Cannon-your freezer, keep withdrawing until you get a freeze on the first hit. You can also skip this step if you don't think you need it. There is no penalty for withdrawing in 1-player

Downsize!-Blocks 50% of everything your opponent throws at you once per battle. This is often the difference between winning with a few HP left, and tieing.

Leaf Shield-~5k-Blocks a bunch of common icons, and pretty standard shield for early BDing

Purple Sticky Hand-~1k-same stratagy as the Freezer if you want to steal something (namely Erikis Red Scorchstone, for DoN2, mission 2)

Chocolate Chip Battle Biscuit-~1.2k-One time use bomb, does 12 icons. Great with downsize! for finishing an opponent, these will deplete your NP if you use them every battle though.

Most people don't use 2 of the same main weapon, and have a backup, but for 1-Player you really don't need a backup as you can look up what your opponent has. These are by far the cheapest 9 icon weapons (priced almost the same as the Stone Clubs, so you could consider getting a stone and ice) for a better variety, although for the early battles, 1-Player opponents don't have a shield for the most part. For 2-Player I can't recomend these as they are completely blocked by the Leaf Shield, which pretty much destroys their purpose, as almost everybody uses a Leaf Shield.

Edit:Linked all the items.
